We are looking for more smart and engaged employees who want to help build the digital support for the City of Gothenburg.

In this role, you will also have a special assignment: to be a mentor and sounding board for a junior developer in the team. You will be the one ensuring someone else grows – through pair programming, daily check-ins, and a patient, pedagogical approach. This is just as much a part of the role as the technical development.

As a System Developer with us, you will become a key person in building, automating, and maintaining the future identity and access platform for the City of Gothenburg's employees and students.

You will collaborate closely with our teams within the Identity and Access unit and contribute to ongoing initiatives to create more flexible, automated, and high-performing solutions.

You will primarily work with:

• Developing, quality-assuring, and maintaining current solutions.
• Adapting and developing new functionality based on requirements from departments and companies within the City of Gothenburg.
• Adapting and developing new functionality with the goal that accounts and permissions fully reflect an identity lifecycle.
• Participating in existing and upcoming development projects.
• Mentoring and working in pairs with a junior developer – through pair programming, knowledge transfer, and continuous support in daily work.

About You

We are looking for you who have an academic education with a focus on IT or equivalent experience that we assess as comparable. You have several years of experience in IT system development. You must have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

In the role of System Developer, you should have several years of experience with:

• Development of backend services (.NET, C#).
• Microsoft SQL Server.
• Agile development, Scrum, and DevOps.

In addition to the above, you have worked in large, complex solutions involving directory services/LDAP and data integration flows, enabling you to prioritize and structure your work based on your experience.

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

• IAM solutions (Identity and Access Management).
• Powershell.
• DevOps / CI-CD (Azure DevOps).
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Data integration flows.

Since the role involves mentoring a junior colleague, we consider it a prerequisite that you are pedagogical, patient, and positive in how you explain and share knowledge. You thrive in the mentor role, provide constructive feedback in a way that strengthens rather than stresses, and create a safe environment where asking questions is as natural as trying things out.

To succeed in the System Developer role, you need to be a structured person in your work. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively, working towards set goals, initiating activities, and achieving results. As part of the team, you are a driving force who takes initiative, pushes issues forward, and contributes to the development of our solutions.

An important part of your personality is that you are skilled at collaborating, listening, communicating, and solving problems that may arise. You are skilled at communicating and adapting your message to the recipient, both verbally and in writing.

As a System Developer with us, it is important that you have a holistic understanding of the assignment and services so that you can dialogue with our adjacent teams and colleagues. You perceive the customer's needs and can translate them into technical requirements together with your team.
