We are currently looking for dedicated nurses to join our section for acute pediatric care. Here, you will have the opportunity to care for children and their families in an environment characterized by competence, collaboration, and compassion.

A secure start with us

We know that a good introduction makes a big difference. Therefore, we want to give you, as a new employee, a secure start and good opportunities to develop within acute pediatric care. Through our introduction program Trygg start (Secure Start), you will receive a structured introduction with education, training, and support in daily work.

The program focuses on the acutely ill child and includes, among other things, an overview of the department's guidelines and routines, S+A Pediatric CPR, scenario training, and reflection. The introduction is also adapted based on your previous experience and needs. The introduction program will be offered twice a year, in January and August/September. The first program start will take place in January 2027.

Our operations

The section for acute pediatric care consists of the acute care ward 95 E, the emergency department for children and young people, and specialized pediatrics 95 E.

• Acute Care Ward: We care for, treat, and investigate children and young people aged 0–18 who require a few days of hospital care. Common patient groups include children with infections, kidney, or heart issues.
• Emergency Department for Children and Young People: Here we receive children and young people with acute medical, orthopedic, and surgical diseases and injuries. The department is open 24/7, and the pace varies from day to day.
• Specialized Pediatrics 95 E: Highly specialized investigations and treatments are conducted within our day-care flow.

We are an engaged and multiprofessional team with the sick child and family at the center. Work here is characterized by collaboration, knowledge sharing, and an open climate where we support each other. Patient safety, professional interaction, and continuous development are natural parts of everyday life.

Your role

As a nurse, you will work either on the acute care ward 95 E or at the emergency department for children and young people. There is also an opportunity to rotate between the departments, which are located in adjacent premises.

• On Ward 95 E: You work in a team together with nurses, assistant nurses, and doctors. The work is varied and includes standard nursing tasks within acute pediatric care.
• At the Pediatric Emergency Department: You work both independently and in a team. Duties include care for children and relatives, as well as medical interventions and acute handling of patients. Patients arrive both on foot and by ambulance, and some require immediate interventions in the emergency room.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, pediatric nurse, or nurse with another specialist education relevant to the operation. Experience in pediatric care and/or work in an emergency department is meritorious. We welcome both those who are new to the profession and those with more experience who wish to continue developing within acute pediatric care.

Your competencies

As a person, you have a great interest in pediatric care and find emergency care exciting. You are flexible and adapt easily to new situations. You thrive in an operation where no day is like the other and are curious to learn new things, develop, and take on different tasks.

What we offer

• Permanent full-time employment with start date according to agreement.
• Introduction through our new introduction program Trygg start (Secure Start).
• After completing the introduction as a newly graduated nurse, you will begin the KUÅ (Clinical Development Year).
• For those with at least two years of experience, there is an opportunity to apply for paid specialist education as a pediatric and adolescent nurse.
• Work on Ward 95 E, the pediatric emergency department, or in a rotation service between the departments.
• We work according to the Academic Point Model with shifts during the day, evening, and night.
