As a school nurse, you will become an important part of Vansbro Municipality's central student health services. Here, you work together with school nurses, school counselors, school psychologists, and school doctors. In this role, you work both preventively and in promoting health. You will

• Have medical leadership responsibility (MLA).
• Work in health promotion and prevention.
• Follow both the School Act and the Health and Medical Services Act, and you will work based on a established basic program.
• Assess the need for health and medical care interventions that should be referred to other healthcare providers or are in need of a school doctor.
• Collaborate with other personnel within the school as well as other stakeholders such as social services and the region.

Student health work needs to be constantly developed, and there are also new legislative proposals concerning student health and the professions within student health that may affect the assignment.

A large part of the basic program consists of health conversations to increase students' knowledge and awareness of risk and health factors and how they affect health. The medical interventions within student health should contribute to creating environments that promote students' learning, development, and health, as well as support students' development towards the goals of education.

You must

• Be a registered nurse with specialist education as a school nurse, district nurse, or child and adolescent nurse.
• Have at least three years of experience as a nurse.
• Have good oral and written skills in Swedish.
• Have good computer and system skills.
• Have a B driver's license.

Before employment, proof of degree, license, and a valid extract from the Swedish Police Authority's criminal record must be submitted.

It is meritorious if you also have

• Previous experience as a school nurse.
• Previous experience working with children and young people.
• Experience working in PMO (Primary Medical Care).
