The Swedish Customs Authority (Tullverket) is actively working to create the conditions for and develop security within its operations. The Administration Department plays a central role in this development.

The Security and Readiness Unit leads, coordinates, and controls the Customs Authority's operational security, physical security, signal security, readiness, and civil defense.

The Security and Readiness Unit currently consists of approximately 20 employees and is led by a Unit Manager and an Assistant Unit Manager.

 

The Customs Authority aims to continuously develop information security work across the board, working from the Customs Authority's Information Security Management System. You will have significant opportunities to influence the work with information security and the role itself.

 

In your role, you will also be part of the Customs Authority's Cybersecurity Team. This group comprises competencies in information and IT security and drives, develops, and supports information and IT security work at the Customs Authority. You will work closely with employees from both other support functions and core operations.

About the Position

Information security is a prioritized part of both operational security and physical security, and the need for development and support in the field of information security is increasing.

 

The work involves, among other things, that you independently or in a group:

  • based on the existing ISMS (Information Security Management System), continue the work of introducing and improving its regulations, routines, and guidelines, for example by further developing the methodological support for threat and risk analyses and information classification.
  • promote increased knowledge and higher security awareness within the Customs Authority, for example through communication efforts and training within the field of information security.
  • act as an advisor during threat and risk analyses and information classification.
  • ensure quality and review risk management.
  • support and provide advice on the handling of information security incidents.
  • control compliance with regulations.
  • actively participate in and handle tasks related to other areas of the agency's security work.

 

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • an academic degree and education in information security, or other education or experience that the Customs Authority deems equivalent.
  • experience working with information security or information security-related tasks.
  • practical experience in developing an organization's information security work in accordance with recognized standards, e.g., the ISO/IEC 27000 series, at both strategic and operational levels.
  • experience coordinating and implementing information and training initiatives.
  • experience leading work with risk analyses and information classification.
  • good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • good knowledge of English.
  • knowledge of the Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Swedish citizenship.

 

It is meritorious if you have:

  • education in physical security.
  • ISO 27001 education.
  • formal certification in the field of information security.
  • education regarding secrecy legislation.
  • experience leading work with risk analyses and information classification.
  • practical experience in information security work in accordance with recognized standards, primarily the ISO/IEC 27000 series.
  • experience working with security-related issues in security-sensitive operations.
  • experience coordinating and implementing information and training initiatives.
  • experience working at a government agency, preferably at a central level.
  • experience with agile work and methods.
  • experience with system support for information classification.
  • experience with system support for risk management.
  • Category B driver's license.

The position is permanent with a 6-month probationary period. Trust-based working hours apply to this position.

 

Travel in the course of duty occurs, primarily within Sweden.

 

To be considered for employment at the Customs Authority, you must meet high demands regarding security and secrecy awareness, suitability, and compliance with current laws. This means you uphold democratic values and the public sector values that apply to the Customs Authority's operations.

 

Before a decision on employment, you will undergo a drug test and background check. Security clearance with register check according to the Security Protection Act will be conducted prior to employment, as the position is placed in a security class. The Customs Authority is a total defense agency, and upon employment, you may be assigned to wartime duties at the Customs Authority.
