Description

Are you a student nearing the completion of your studies in computer science, interaction and design, or systems science? ITS is looking for two to eight IT students from Umeå University who want to work part-time with us!

ITS supports higher education and socially vital research using IT. We believe that knowledge and facts contribute to making our society better. Together, we work to ensure that researchers, students, and teachers – locally and nationally – can get their important work done.

We are located in newly renovated premises in Kunskapens Hus at Umeå University. Here, we support each other when needed, and we value diversity and new perspectives. Job Responsibilities

As an employee at ITS as a student (student assistant), you will receive a personal mentor from ITS, the opportunity to combine studies with work experience, and a monthly salary. This part-time job is suitable for you who, alongside your studies, want to work part-time as a developer in a development team.

Your tasks will vary and may involve participation in everything from operations and development teams to pure UX teams. We use a tech stack that includes .NET, Java, Windows, and Linux. Most of our teams follow basic agile principles.

The tasks involve working both independently and in groups.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

  • Are a student in a degree program at Umeå University and have completed courses totaling at least 60 higher education credits.
  • The program focus should be computer science, interaction and design, or systems science.
  • A merit requirement is that you have previously worked summers and/or part-time at ITS.

We expect you to have good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English. Good teamwork and initiative are seen as essential qualities for applicants.

Conditions

The position as a student assistant covers 10–40% of a full-time position. Eligible for appointment as a student assistant is the student who is admitted to undergraduate or advanced level studies at a university or college. The employment must be carried out concurrently with studies.

Working hours are scheduled on weekdays during office hours, as agreed upon. Salary is paid according to the current local agreement on salary setting for student assistants at Umeå University.

For student assistant positions, employment may last for a maximum of one year at a time, but collectively no more than three years. We strive for continuity and would appreciate it if you could work as a student assistant for more than one term. The employment period is between 2026-08-31 and 2027-01-17, or as agreed.
