to apply for the job
Do you want to contribute to more people in Örebro achieving self-sufficiency and becoming part of the labor market? Do you also want to drive development within the municipality's integration and labor market assignments? We are now looking for an engaged and development-oriented unit manager for our "Support and Work" business area – with a special focus on integration and the labor market track.
The business area is in an intensive phase of development where the organization, working methods, and collaboration forms are being renewed to meet the assignment within integration and the labor market – not least in light of the activity reform. As a unit manager, you will be a key person in this work, leading both people and business development with a focus on results, quality, and sustainable solutions.
With us, you are offered exciting and stimulating tasks and become a central function between politics, administration management, and employees – where your leadership will be crucial in creating direction, engagement, and results.
About the position
As a unit manager within integration and the labor market, you lead, together with four colleague managers, the work to strengthen individuals' establishment and path to work. The assignment is characterized by major changes, where the new activity requirement reform places increased demands on the municipality's labor market measures as part of social services' responsibility.
You are responsible for developing and ensuring that working methods meet the reform's requirements, with a clear focus on activity, progression, and measurable results. A central part of the assignment is to contribute to more individuals – especially those far from the labor market – receiving the right support to approach or achieve self-sufficiency.
The work involves leading measures directed at target groups that often face combined challenges, such as low Swedish language skills, low education level, and limited work experience. At the same time, the labor market's demands are changing rapidly, which places high demands on flexible and needs-adapted working methods.
In the role, you actively drive collaboration and outreach work in cooperation with the Swedish Public Employment Service, the business community, and civil society. You work to create effective establishment pathways that meet both the individual's needs and the labor market's competence requirements.
Since April, the "Support" and "Work" operations have been included in a joint business area, which means you are also expected to actively contribute to the continued development of the organization. Change management and creating security for employees in development are therefore a central part of the assignment.
As a unit manager, you also have personnel, financial, and operational responsibility.
Examples of tasks:
- lead, develop, and follow up on the unit's operations, economy, and work environment
- lead and develop the unit's work within integration and the labor market track
- ensure effective and quality measures that lead to increased self-sufficiency
- implement and follow up on working methods related to the activity requirement reform
- drive development work within the business area
- establish and develop collaboration forms with the Swedish Public Employment Service, the business community, and civil society
- collaborate with trade unions and other internal parties
- follow laws and guidelines
About the workplace
The "Support and Work" business area is part of the Upper Secondary School and Labor Market Administration and has a clear assignment to strengthen individuals' path to self-sufficiency through work and education.
The operations are conducted at several locations, primarily at Campus Risbergska and Klostergatan.
