Do you want to contribute to safer care and social services? The Inspectorate of Care and Social Services (IVO) is now seeking Unit Managers for the Actor Control Division, Business Area Actor Supervision, to develop state supervision. In the relevant units, we work to counteract welfare crime within care and social services.

The positions are fixed-term contracts for six months while recruitment for permanent unit managers is ongoing. Extension of the fixed-term contracts may be considered. The location of employment is Stockholm, Örebro, Gothenburg, or Malmö.

About the Job

As the manager of the Actor Supervision Unit, you are responsible for leading and developing the unit's work to prevent and counteract crime and contribute to safe and high-quality care and social services. You translate plans, decisions, and guidelines into practical implementation. You create conditions for business development and improved working methods, and ensure legally secure and efficient case processing within the unit. You exercise close and trust-building leadership where ongoing dialogue and feedback are important components. You are responsible for ensuring that your employees have the competence and prerequisites needed to perform their work in a good and safe working environment.

You report to the Head of Business Area and are part of their management team, where you actively contribute to coordination and strategic steering of the business area. You have responsibility for the business, budget, and personnel for your unit. You may have employees and managerial colleagues with their workplace in another location, which requires that you can exercise good leadership also remotely.

The role involves close cooperation with the Head of Business Area and other unit managers within the division, as well as with other units and functions within the authority. You represent the business and collaborate with other authorities, care and social service providers, and other stakeholders.

The Leadership Role

You should be a clear leader and employer representative, with a good understanding of the employer role both in relation to employees and to the superior manager. Furthermore, it is expected that you have the ability to communicate and anchor strategic decisions and messages in a way that is understandable and appropriate. The role requires an attentive, engaged, and developmental leadership style, with a focus on leading, supporting, and developing employees in line with IVO's mission and goals.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • a relevant academic degree or equivalent,
  • at least one year of current experience in leading work, for example by having worked in a management team or in the role of project manager, coordinator, team leader, or similar,
  • relevant and current experience of work within public operations to counteract welfare crime,
  • good knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the business area,
  • knowledge of laws and regulations governing public operations,
  • experience of working based on requirements for legal security and quality, good knowledge of public authority operations and current regulations,
  • current experience of supervision, review, or licensing activities,
  • good skills in Swedish, both oral and written.

We consider it meritorious if you also have:

  • knowledge of IVO's operations,
  • knowledge of healthcare and/or social services,
  • managerial assignments with responsibility for business, budget, working environment, and personnel,
  • leading employees in change processes,
  • representing the employer in internal and external contexts,
  • leading qualified employees.

Recruitment Process and Security Clearance

We have high demands on employees' and managers' awareness of security and confidentiality. You may undergo a security clearance to be placed in a security classification.

In Stockholm, there are also cross-authority divisions for actor control, business support, legal support, analysis, planning, and communication, as well as the Director General's staff.
