ALTEN is looking for a curious and meticulous R&D Analytical Chemist who wants to help shape the future of Life Science solutions.
We are currently seeking a driven and analytical R&D Engineer with specialist expertise in chromatography and method development for a long-term assignment with one of Sweden's leading Life Science companies in Uppsala. In this role, you will work in a research-oriented and laboratory-focused environment, contributing to the development of new products and the improvement of existing processes. You will become part of a competent analytical team working with advanced analysis methods to support both product development and production.

The Role
As an R&D Analytical Chemist, you will:
- Perform analyses using chromatography (HPLC/LC/GC) and other analytical techniques.
- Develop and optimize new analytical methods within the framework of various projects.
- Validate methods according to established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct contract analyses for production and quality departments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams for troubleshooting, method development, and process improvements.
- Document and report results in a structured and scientific manner.
The role is laboratory-focused and involves both project work and support for production and quality functions. You will work closely with other specialists and have the opportunity to influence both technical and strategic decisions.
Requirements
We are looking for you who have:
- A PhD or MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a similar relevant field.
- Experience with quantitative chromatography (HPLC/LC/GC) and mass spectrometry.
- Experience in method development and validation within analytical chemistry.
- Very good proficiency in Swedish and English.
- Experience within the Life Science sector.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in research and project work in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and experience with advanced analytical tools.
- Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and regulatory requirements within Life Science.
