Do you want to help create the conditions for people to take the next step towards self-sufficiency? We are now looking for an occupational therapist for the labor market unit.

The labor market unit works in close collaboration with economic assistance, and a large part of the target group consists of individuals receiving economic assistance. The target group includes persons between the ages of 16 and 66 who, for various reasons, are far from the labor market, for example due to functional variations, mental health issues, or previous substance abuse problems.

With an upcoming activity requirement and an expanded mandate, we are facing an exciting development. The activity requirement is intended to contribute to each participant taking active steps towards work or studies through increased participation, structure, and personal responsibility, based on their individual conditions.

At the same time, we are in a development phase where working methods, approaches, and organization continue to be shaped by new legal requirements and the needs of the target group. For you as an occupational therapist, this means an opportunity to influence how the social services' work with work capacity assessments, in-depth investigations, and work-rehabilitating measures develops.

As an occupational therapist, you work to find pathways to self-sufficiency for individuals who are far from the labor market and where several interventions have often already been tried. You work based on the individual's needs, conditions, and resources, and play a key role in creating the basis for the continued path towards long-term self-sufficiency.

A large part of the assignment involves conducting in-depth investigations. The work includes, among other things, collecting and compiling information from various actors, conducting assessment interviews, observations, and assessments of activity and work capacity, as well as compiling information to support further planning. You also support individuals in contacts with other authorities and societal actors. Other tasks may occur depending on the needs of the operations.

Your tasks include, among other things:

  • planning and implementing assistance-decided measures, primarily in-depth investigations
  • conducting assessments of activity and work capacity
  • establishing and following up on implementation plans
  • motivating and supporting individuals based on their conditions and goals
  • collaborating with internal and external actors
  • documenting according to current legislation and guidelines
  • contributing to operational and method development within the labor market area

You work both independently and together with colleagues and collaboration partners. The role requires a good ability to build trusting relationships, communicate clearly, and meet people in different life situations.

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable in their professional role and who has the ability to drive their work forward in a structured manner. You are receptive, have good collaboration skills, and thrive in an operation where development and improvement are a natural part of everyday life. With a professional approach and a genuine interest in people, you contribute to creating opportunities for individuals to take the next step towards self-sufficiency.

We want you, as an employee, to feel good both on and off the job. Therefore, you have access to, among other things, a wellness allowance, free swimming, and discounts on massage. Read more about our benefits: https://vetlanda.se/formaner (https://vetlanda.se/formaner)

We believe in a workplace where differences are a strength and where we always meet each other with joy and respect. There is room for courage here – to dare to think differently, try new things, and develop. By collaborating and supporting each other, we create community and pride. Together we are Vetlanda Municipality.
