School Social Worker for the School Social Team in Järfälla

Our school social team was launched in 2024 and has achieved very good results in a short time. We are therefore expanding the team to eight employees! Are you our new colleague?

The school social team is multidisciplinary and consists of social workers, special educators, and psychologists with a school background. The team's mission is to work both consultatively and operationally to reduce school absenteeism among students in Järfälla's primary schools.

The school social workers are employed within the Social Services Administration's Prevention Unit but have their workplace in the Education Administration's premises, so that the team is co-located. The school social team has two group leaders, one from each administration, who hold the line management responsibility. The Prevention Unit consists of 35 employees who work with preventive measures such as parenting support, family counseling, field work, Early Support - SSPF, and coordination of violence prevention programs, ANDTS issues, violence in close relationships, and honor-related violence and oppression.

Job Responsibilities

Your role as a school social worker is to work with primary school students experiencing repeated or long-term school absenteeism. This intervention is part of the social services' measures without individual needs assessment and is therefore not a benefit-assessed intervention. As a school social worker, you work with interventions for the child/young person and their guardians. Your task is to build relationships, break isolation, strengthen functional capacity in daily life, and ensure the family receives the right support. You conduct home visits and accompany students to school and activities when necessary. You work closely with colleagues in the team whose main responsibility is to support school staff in identifying and designing measures that increase attendance and promote the student's development and learning in school. If a benefit-assessed intervention is needed, you collaborate with the social services' authority-executing units.

The role includes initiating collaboration, leading network meetings and staff meetings, and participating in SIP (Individual Action Plan) meetings. The school social team also contributes to systematic quality work by developing forms for follow-up, evaluation, and development of the team's work.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work (Social Worker)
• Documented experience in motivational, advisory, and supportive work with children and young people
• Good knowledge of social services' mission and legislation
• Experience working within social services, preferably in the children and youth sector
• Valid driver's license

• Good knowledge of autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, and other neuropsychiatric disabilities
