The Skarpnack District Administration offers you a workplace where active employee participation and clear leadership are the foundation for providing Stockholm's residents with the best services. Since we create our work environment together, openness, respect, and responsiveness are important.

Welcome to us

Hemmet för gamla (The Home for the Elderly) is a care and housing facility for people over 65 years old. The building is located on a nature-rich plot with access to a large, beautiful park that offers opportunities for walks and outdoor activities for our residents. Several bus connections and a subway station are located nearby.

The operation consists of two units, one focused on dementia care and one on somatic care, totaling 63 apartments. Here, nursing assistants, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists work. A doctor visits the facility once a week.

What we offer

Join us and work as an occupational therapist in our operations. Your work makes a difference for those who live with us and need care.

Your role

The tasks consist of standard occupational therapist duties in a care and housing facility. You focus on our residents' activities in daily life with the goal of enabling them to utilize their own abilities. You will conduct assessments and work according to the care process, which means assessing, deciding on, implementing, following up, and evaluating interventions/measures. You work on adapting the living environment and testing, adjusting, and prescribing various types of physical and cognitive aids. You motivate and support residents in developing their physical, cognitive, and social abilities.

You train and supervise staff in rehabilitative interventions and approaches, ergonomics, and transfer techniques. Residents have access to a gym where you, in close collaboration with the physiotherapist, are responsible for and perform training together with residents. You will collaborate with physiotherapists, nurses, and care staff through team meetings, care planning, etc. The work also involves contact with relatives.

Your competence and experience

You are a licensed occupational therapist, preferably with experience from elderly care. You have prescription rights or a diploma from the National Board of Health and Welfare's web-based prescription training. You have knowledge of assistive devices and the prescription process. You are proficient in the Office package and have experience with documentation, preferably in VODOK according to ICF. As a person, you are structured, meticulous, and independent with good teamwork skills. You also have good verbal communication skills. You have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively with a holistic perspective. You are open to improvements and would like to contribute to our joint development and quality work based on the goals of the operation and the city. In return, we offer you great opportunities for competence development.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.

The department is HBTQi-certified, and more operations are being certified.
