About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transport.

Job Description

As a chef at the Remand Prison in Sollentuna, you will prepare approximately 370 portions per meal daily, distributed across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your duties also include cleaning the kitchen premises, dishwashing, and conducting self-control inspections in accordance with current legislation. Preparation of special diets is included. The work is carried out in collaboration with staff in other functions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is confident, stable, and self-aware. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment, take responsibility for your tasks, and are solution-focused. To thrive and succeed in this role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people are capable of development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

• Restaurant or large-scale catering education at minimum upper secondary level.
• Experience working in large kitchens.
• Experience working with special diets.
• Experience working with self-control inspections.
• Ability to communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

The following are also meritorious:

• Knowledge of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's ordering system.
