As a tram driver, you need to have good judgment and a calm approach, while also having the ability to handle a variety of traffic situations responsibly, always keeping safety and the passenger in focus.

You must also be able to work irregular hours as our trams run almost around the clock, 365 days a year.

About You

Our passengers expect good service and punctual tram traffic. This means that as a driver, you need to have patience and the ability to handle stress even when traffic does not run as planned. In your role as a tram driver, you must also be comfortable working independently with responsibility for the tram and passengers.

Since the work as a tram driver is sedentary, you need to be in good physical shape and meet the Swedish Transport Agency's regulations.

It is also a requirement that you read, understand, and speak good Swedish.

Qualifications

• Upper secondary education or other education assessed by the employer as equivalent
• Swedish driver's license with at least category B and completed probationary period
• Good ability to read, understand, and express yourself verbally and in writing in technical Swedish, as this is a prerequisite for completing the training and understanding traffic and tram instructions
• Good health, including normal vision and hearing according to the Swedish Transport Agency's regulations (TSFS 2019:113)

Merits

• Familiarity with the Gothenburg tram network
• Knowledge of languages other than Swedish

If you proceed in the process, we will request certificates and documentation that can verify your CV and your answers in the survey. Great importance will also be placed on personal suitability based on the requirements for safety-critical services, such as tram drivers.

To be offered a place on the training, you need to participate and be approved in all stages of the recruitment process. This includes an information meeting, interviews, occupational psychological tests, a visit to the tram depot, reference checks, health examination, and drug test. We have several training start dates that we recruit for continuously, so an offer of employment may be made before the final application deadline. We are currently recruiting for a training start in October.

During the training, you are employed on a fixed-term basis with a salary of 32,127 SEK/month.

After completing the training, there is an opportunity to be placed higher in our salary scale if you can prove previous work experience according to the requirements for achieving a higher salary. You will receive more information about our salary steps during the recruitment process.
