The Authority Unit is responsible for exercising authority within elderly care and disability services according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Law on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Disabilities (LSS), as well as transport services and national transport services.

Here, you will become part of a dedicated team consisting of social secretaries, authority manager, senior social secretary, next of kin consultant, and fee handler. As a new employee, you will receive a structured introduction and close support in your daily work.

WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE AS A SOCIAL SECRETARY INVOLVE?

As a social secretary, you investigate, decide on, and follow up on measures according to the Social Services Act, primarily within elderly care. You also handle cases regarding transport services and national transport services.

You have close contact with the individual, their relatives, and the individual's representative. The work also involves collaboration with the municipality's health and medical care, service providers, health centers, and inpatient care to ensure that every individual receives the right support based on their needs and conditions.

The role involves significant personal responsibility while you are an important part of the team. We work with professional treatment and close collaboration to provide our citizens with the best possible support.

We use the business system Treserva and work based on IBIC – The Individual's Needs at the Center.

The position is part-time and may, depending on the needs of the operations, be expanded over time.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for you who have:

  • a degree in social work or equivalent education
  • good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing
  • good experience with documentation and computers
  • Category B driver's license

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience with exercising authority
  • experience working within elderly care
  • experience in the business system Treserva
  • knowledge and experience of IBIC (individual's needs at the center)
  • knowledge of Finnish, as Trosa Municipality is part of a Finnish administrative area

As a person, you are secure, responsible, and flexible. You have a good attitude, show respect and understanding for other people, and easily create trusting relationships. You work independently, take initiative, and plan your work in a structured and efficient manner. You have good decision-making skills and can translate legislation and goals into practical action, always with the individual's needs in focus.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE EMPLOYMENT

Type of employment: Permanent position, probationary period may apply

Scope: Part-time (50%). There may be an opportunity for increased working hours later, depending on the needs of the operations.

Start date: According to agreement
