Markverkstad Uppland is a unit within the Army Workshop Unit (MvE), which belongs to the Army Staff (AST). MvE performs maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground materiel, air base materiel, and delivers technical system support. This involves maintenance in the form of supervision, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scraping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and materiel inspection. The Army Workshop Unit delivers services according to customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities

As a vehicle mechanic, you will primarily work with maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of vehicles, machines, and equipment used within the Swedish Armed Forces, such as wheeled vehicles, wheel loaders, trucks, tracked vehicles, masts, containers, and power generators. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as modification and reconstruction based on established specifications.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• At least a completed two- or three-year upper secondary education with a focus on vehicle technology or equivalent, or alternatively, competence acquired through professional experience assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Previous relevant experience working as a mechanic.
• Computer literacy.
• Good knowledge of technology and troubleshooting.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Category B driver's license.

MERITORIOUS

• Previous experience working with vehicle electronics and hydraulics in similar areas.
• Experience with maintenance of heavy vehicles and/or mechanics.
• Refrigeration certificate.
• Experience and knowledge of masts, power generators, and vehicle electronics.
• Category C or CE driver's license.
• Forklift/wheel loader training.
• Overhead crane training.
• Experience and knowledge of workshop operations and materiel maintenance in the Swedish Armed Forces.

Other Information

Employment type: Permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period.

Employment level: Full-time, day shift – shift work may be applied.

Work location: Enköping.

Start date: As soon as possible after agreement.

The work also involves requirements for travel and service, both domestic and international.

The position is a civilian post.

Work involving hardening plastics occurs at the workshop and requires health checks.
