Do you want to lead and develop patient safety work at Region Jämtland Härjedalen?

We are looking for you who want to work as a Patient Safety Coordinator based in the "Nära Vård" (Close Care) division, but who together with other patient safety coordinators and chief physicians in the region coordinates the region-wide healthcare injury prevention work and patient safety issues.

You will work with the entire division's operations and be part of our own patient safety team. We are looking for more competencies that can support the patient safety work with broad expertise within the division's wide scope of operations.

You will also be part of the Healthcare Patient Safety Team, which consists of three chief physicians (one of whom will also be the team leader) and three to five patient safety coordinators.

You will be employed as a Patient Safety Coordinator by the Division Manager for the "Nära Vård" Division and have your primary employment in this function, combined with work in your primary employment.

Together with the chief physicians in the "Nära Vård" division, you will support managers and employees in patient safety work to ensure safe, accessible, and secure care. You will support managers in being proactive in patient safety work, but will also be available when serious incidents occur.

The overarching patient safety team consists of 6–8 people who meet on fixed days to handle issues that are common throughout the entire healthcare sector. In 2025, LSG Patient Safety was established for internal regional patient safety issues. In addition to the patient safety team, the internal LSG includes the division managers and the head of staff in the Health Services staff. A lawyer participates if needed.

3 positions.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Introduce and train managers and employees who have specific responsibility for patient safety work within the division.
  • Be responsible for methods such as the Green Cross, RoK analyses within Patient Safety, and the deviation process including Lex Maria.
  • Conduct and lead major incident analyses involving many units (more than two and/or complex incidents).
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with the Patient Board and IVO (Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare).
  • Responsible for drafting a Patient Safety Report for the entire Health Services (analysis, indicators, activities).
  • Participate in the Chief Nurse Network.
  • Responsible for LSG Patient Safety (for the entire county) together with other patient safety coordinators and a representative from the municipality.
  • Acquire new knowledge in the field of patient safety at the regional/national level.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a specialist-trained nurse, physiotherapist, psychologist, or social worker with several years of clinical experience. The "Nära Vård" division has a broad mandate, and we need different professions to work systematically with patient safety work at the division level. Our analysis is therefore that the division's needs in patient safety work consist of a combination of three patient safety coordinators:

  • A further-trained nurse (40% position)
  • An experienced physiotherapist (30% position)
  • An employee who is a psychologist or social worker (30% position) and works daily with mental ill-health.

You also have an interest and commitment to care quality, patient safety, and development work. It is meritorious if you have experience as a chief nurse, manager, or in another leadership role, but this is not a requirement.

Personal Qualities

We place great emphasis on personal qualities. We highly value that you act with engagement and drive, and create trust and confidence. You express yourself easily in speech and writing. You enjoy working in a team and want to contribute to a good work climate. You have good analytical skills, extensive clinical experience, and want to use your judgment combined with humility in strategic patient safety work.

Employment type: Permanent employment.

At Region Jämtland Härjedalen, our work is permeated by our core values: we create value for those we serve, act with drive, and strive to always be perceived as reliable. Here, you have the opportunity to work in an organization where these values shape daily life and where your work truly makes a difference.

As an employee, you have access to a wide range of benefits via our benefits portal. We care about your health and offer a wellness allowance or wellness hours. At Östersund Hospital, you can also train for free at the Zefyren gym and participate in leader-led sessions.

Selection and appointment may take place continuously during the advertising period, so we would appreciate it if you submit your application as soon as possible.

We have an established agreement for recruitment and therefore politely but firmly decline contact with advertising salespeople or other sellers of recruitment services.
