Do you want to lead and develop patient safety work in Region Jämtland Härjedalen?
We are looking for you who want to work as a Patient Safety Coordinator based in the Medicine Division. Together with other patient safety coordinators and chief physicians in the region, you will coordinate the joint health and medical care work on injury prevention and patient safety issues. The patient safety team consists of three chief physicians (one of whom will be the team leader) and three to five patient safety coordinators.
You will be employed as a Patient Safety Coordinator by the Division Manager for the Medicine Division. Your primary employment is in this function, but the work is combined with work in your primary role.
Together with the chief physicians in the Medicine Division, you support managers and staff in patient safety work to ensure safe, accessible, and secure care. You support managers in being proactive in patient safety work, but are also available when serious incidents have occurred.
The overarching patient safety team consists of 6–8 people who meet on fixed days to handle issues that are common throughout the health and medical care sector. In 2025, LSG Patient Safety was established for the region's internal patient safety issues. In the internal LSG, in addition to the patient safety team, the division managers and the chief of staff in the HS staff are included. A lawyer participates as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Introduce and train managers and staff who have special responsibility for patient safety work within the division.
- Be responsible for methods such as the Green Cross, RoK analyses within Patient Safety, and the deviation process including Lex Maria.
- Conduct and lead major incident analyses involving many units (more than two and/or complex incidents).
- Maintain ongoing dialogue with the Patient Board and IVO.
- Responsible for drawing up a Patient Safety Report for the entire HS (analysis, indicators, activities).
- Participate in the Chief Nursing Officer network.
- Be responsible for LSG Patient Safety (for the entire county) together with other patient safety coordinators and a representative from the municipality.
- Acquire new knowledge in the field of patient safety at the regional/national level.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with several years of clinical experience. You also have an interest and commitment to healthcare quality, patient safety, and development work. Merit if you have experience as a chief nurse, manager, or other leadership function, but this is not a requirement.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities. We highly value that you act engaged and proactive, creating trust and confidence. You express yourself easily in speech and writing. You enjoy working in a team and want to contribute to a good work climate. You have good analytical skills, extensive clinical experience, and want to use your judgment combined with humility in strategic patient safety work.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Selection and appointment may take place continuously during the advertising period, so we would appreciate it if you submit your application as soon as possible.
