Junior Software Engineer – Autonomous Systems

How do you develop software for machines that need to navigate, perform tasks, and operate in some of the world's most demanding environments? In this role, you will work on the development of autonomous and automated systems, with a focus on C++, simulation, and advanced system development. You will become part of a team developing technology for real-world products, following solutions all the way from concept and implementation to testing and field use.

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will join a development team working on tomorrow's autonomous and assisted systems. You will work on software development, simulation, and technical solutions that help advanced machines navigate, make decisions, and perform work safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

You will work in cross-functional development teams where software, simulation, system development, and product development converge. The work spans from requirements definition and design to implementation, testing, and delivery.

A typical day may involve breaking down new features with the team, implementing code, testing solutions in simulators or test environments, debugging behaviors, and discussing technical trade-offs with colleagues in areas such as simulation, architecture, automation, or control engineering. The role is varied, combining programming with technical problem-solving in close collaboration with others.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Developing C++ software for next-generation machine systems
• Working with simulation, testing, and verification of new features
• Contributing to the development of autonomous and automated solutions
• Debugging and analyzing complex technical systems
• Collaborating closely with developers, testers, and system engineers
• Being involved throughout the entire development chain from idea to finished product

Who We Are Looking For

• A Master's degree in Computer Science, Technical Physics, or equivalent education
• Recent graduate or up to a couple of years of relevant work experience
• A genuine interest in software development and advanced technical systems
• Programming experience gained through studies, projects, thesis work, or previous employment
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with simulation or modeling of technical systems
• Linux-based development
• MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools
