Previous experience is desired
SMP Parts is a leading manufacturer of innovative attachments for excavators, specializing in tilt rotators that increase the machine's versatility and efficiency. With in-house production, strong technical expertise, and a clear focus on innovation, we offer an environment where ideas can quickly become reality.
We are in an exciting growth phase and are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to help develop future products together with us.
Whether you are a recent graduate or have a few years of experience, we are looking for someone who is curious, technically interested, and wants to develop in an environment where you can take responsibility and grow over time.
Why design engineers choose SMP
Here, you become part of a company where development happens close to the operations. We have in-house production, short decision-making paths, and close collaboration between design, production, purchasing, and quality.
This means you don't just send out drawings but get the opportunity to follow your designs all the way from the CAD model to the finished product.
You will get to:
- Work with large and technically advanced products used in real-world environments.
- See how your designs are manufactured in our own production.
- Collaborate closely with production and the workshop to find smart solutions.
- Visit customers and end-users to understand how the products are used in practice.
- Develop together with experienced colleagues and gradually take on more responsibility.
- Be part of a growing company where new ideas are appreciated and can be turned into reality.
- Opportunities for hybrid work based on operational needs.
Your responsibilities
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work on the development and further development of our products. You will become part of our technical team and be involved in the entire development process.
Your tasks may include:
- Creating 3D models and design documentation.
- Developing and improving components, subsystems, and products.
- Participating in product development projects from idea to finished solution.
- Collaborating with production regarding manufacturing-adapted designs.
- Contributing to testing, verification, and evaluation of new solutions.
- Participating in improvement work related to quality, function, and cost.
- Contributing to the development of future attachments and tilt rotators.
Who are you?
We believe you could be a recent graduate engineer or have a few years of experience in design and product development. The most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in technology and want to develop together with us.
We would like you to have:
- Knowledge of mechanical design.
- Experience with 3D CAD, such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar.
- Interest in product development and technology.
- Ability to collaborate and contribute in a team.
Experience in manufacturing industry, machinery, hydraulics, or welded structures is an advantage but not a requirement.
Application
The recruitment is carried out in cooperation with Rutinera in Sundsvall. Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Therefore, we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.
