Tractor Driver for Technical Services

As one of our regular tractor drivers is leaving, we are now looking for a person who will mainly work with varied tasks in our parks and green areas.

The Infrastructure Department of the Technical Services is responsible for the development and management of the municipality's public environments, ranging from green spaces and protected nature to streets/traffic and the water and sewerage network.

Your Role with Us

You will work primarily in one, but sometimes several, of our operational areas as a tractor driver. Your main task is to assist the park maintenance team with the transport, collection, and removal of materials. During the winter, you will also assist with tree felling, which requires that you have solid knowledge and prior experience in this area.

The position also involves assisting with winter road maintenance using a tractor, truck, loader, or other equipment carriers. At times, you will also help out in other parts of the operations, such as playground maintenance and minor ground/construction works. When needed, you will also operate other vehicles on the unit, such as smaller tractors, loaders, excavators, and trucks.

When necessary, you will be able to assist with general tasks performed by park workers. The work is planned in consultation with the operations manager, but in daily operations, you largely plan and prioritize your own tasks in close dialogue with your colleagues. On-call duty may be included in the position.

Who Are We Looking For?

You have a completed upper secondary education, preferably with a focus on transport, infrastructure, or vehicle technology. We are looking for you with extensive experience driving heavy vehicles with cranes. You must be able to handle various tractor attachments, such as wood chippers, harrows, hedge trimmer attachments, winches, etc. You must hold a B-manual driving license.

The following qualifications are meritorious:

• C driving license
• BE or CE driving license
• Operator certificate for loaders
• Forklift and vehicle-mounted crane
• APV 1:1–1:3

We also value if you have green competencies or interest, as well as basic knowledge of the Office package.

We are looking for someone who can perform in a high-pressure environment and handle difficult situations with calmness. You have a strong safety mindset, remain optimistic in the face of challenges, and have the ability to accept and learn from criticism. You must have good skills in planning and organizing your work, meaning you are good at setting goals, organizing resources, following up, and closing activities.

If offered employment, you will need to order and present an extract from the police criminal record.
