🐥 About the Role

As an animal caretaker or farm manager, you will work practically with the care and maintenance of poultry (chickens) at one of our 14 farms in northwestern Scania.

Formal education is not required, but experience from agriculture or animal husbandry is highly advantageous. For the role of farm manager, experience is a requirement.

🎯 Duties and Responsibilities

You will become part of our production team of approximately 35 people. Work is carried out in teams of 1–3 people per farm, depending on size. Our modern facilities are technically equipped, requiring you to be comfortable with technology, troubleshooting, and digital tools.

As an animal caretaker, your tasks include among other things:

  • Feeding the animals

  • Monitoring health and well-being

  • Performing sampling and checks to ensure healthy and thriving animals

  • Weighing, vaccinating, and selecting animals

  • Sorting and counting eggs at the egg belt

  • Placing eggs correctly for further transport to the hatchery

  • Cleaning animal areas and maintaining a good working environment

  • Washing work clothes

  • Responsible for egg production

  • Planning daily work in consultation with the farm manager and supervisor

  • Working with routines, deviations, biosecurity, and salmonella controls

  • Registering production data and animal conditions

  • Performing alarm checks according to schedule

  • Inventorizing and reporting results

  • Ensuring good animal care and high biosecurity

  • Ordering feed and supplies

As a farm manager, you have the same tasks but also greater responsibility for ensuring that work on the farm is carried out according to plan in dialogue with the supervisor.

🧰 Skills and Personal Attributes

We are looking for you who:

  • Have good knowledge of animal husbandry

  • Handle animals in a safe and ethical manner

  • Are meticulous, responsible, and technically interested

  • Have good teamwork skills

  • Fluent in Swedish (spoken and written) (requirement)

  • Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Hold a driver's license and have access to a car

  • Understanding of English (advantageous)

🕒 Working Hours

  • Working hours: 07:00 - 16:00 (sometimes 06:00 - 15:00)

  • Schedule: 10 working days, followed by 4 days off

  • Overtime may occur
