Description

The Adapted Upper Secondary School currently consists of the Individual Programme, the National Programme, Adapted Education for Adults, Short-term Supervision, and the school café. The operations are growing and developing — and we are proud that our students run three UF (Youth Business) companies, giving them the opportunity to develop entrepreneurship, participation, and working life competence.

On the Individual Programme, we work in a team with a strong focus on students, great heart, and high professionalism. We meet students with intellectual disabilities, and the teaching is individualized, functional, and close to everyday life.

We work in small teams with educators and student assistants in small student groups, based on a relational approach and low-affective handling. Our learning environment is clear, structured, and accessible. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is a natural part of the work, such as the use of picture support and signs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching within the five subject areas of the Individual Programme.
• Create an accessible, clear, and structured learning environment through language-developing methods, clarifying pedagogy, and AAC.
• Work with low-affective handling and a relational approach in all parts of the teaching.
• Lead and collaborate closely with a team of student assistants to jointly create safety, predictability, and meaningful teaching.
• Adapt teaching based on each student's communicative, social, and cognitive prerequisites.
• Work together with the student health team regarding strategies, adaptations, and student health initiatives.
• Participate in the organization's collegial learning through joint reflection, analysis, and planning.
• Actively participate in systematic quality work, where documentation, follow-up, and analysis are a natural part of the work.
• Collaborate both internally and externally.

Qualifications

Teacher degree and Special Needs Teacher education with a specialization in intellectual disabilities. Those with preschool teacher education or leisure center teacher education who are interested in starting special needs teacher education are also welcome to apply.

Class B driver's license

Conditions

The position is subject to the necessary decisions being made. Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis.

Department of Children and Education. Our department is responsible for preschools, primary schools, upper secondary schools, adult education, and cultural schools in the municipality.
