Your workplace

Regionfastigheter is a key support function within Region Värmland, responsible for the development, management, and operation of the region's properties. We create sustainable, functional premises for healthcare and other operations. Regionfastigheter has approximately 100 employees within projects, property management, and operations. Currently, several extensive property projects are underway – including Nya CSK, one of the region's largest development projects.

Regionfastigheter provides services and premises that support the region's operations. Through construction, installation, and adaptation projects, we manage and enhance the value of the properties. Work involving advanced technology, artistic design, and a focus on sustainability permeates our processes, ensuring that indoor and outdoor environments contribute to safety, well-being, and trust.

We own approximately 450,000 sqm of our own premises and rent an additional 100,000 sqm. We are a development-oriented property organization and are at the forefront of our environmental work. A safe and efficient operation requires functional premises and modern technical equipment. Construction projects such as renovations, new builds, and earthworks are therefore a natural part of the property environment. These projects simultaneously pose risks to ongoing operations, such as dust spread, noise, and interruptions to critical utilities like electricity, gas, and ventilation.

The organization is in a development phase where risk management and occupational health & safety in construction projects are being strengthened and systematized. The role of Risk and Occupational Health & Safety Engineer is a newly established key function. This work involves close collaboration between operations, the property organization, and external actors. Organizationally, you will belong to property projects where you collaborate with various functions and roles depending on where in the process the case or project is located.

Your responsibilities

As a Risk and Occupational Health & Safety Engineer, you are responsible for leading and coordinating risk management work in construction projects, with a focus on healthcare environments. You ensure that risks to patients, staff, and visitors are identified, analyzed, and handled in a structured manner, and that the work is carried out according to established routines and processes. The role involves both operational participation in individual projects and strategic responsibility for developing and improving working methods over time. You work to minimize disruptions in the execution of construction projects, ensure that decided measures are implemented, and follow up on and evaluate their effect. Furthermore, you are responsible for developing and systematizing occupational health & safety work from a client perspective, with a focus on ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines. The work is carried out in close cooperation with operations, contractors, consultants, and functions such as BAS-P and BAS-U.

Your skills and competencies

We are looking for you who have a relevant post-secondary education in fields such as construction, engineering, occupational health & safety, security, or equivalent, or have acquired equivalent competence through work experience. You may, for example, have a background as a project engineer or a similar role. You have several years of experience working in construction projects or with risk and occupational health & safety issues, and have a good understanding of complex or operationally critical environments. You have strong analytical skills and experience in developing and implementing working methods and processes. Furthermore, you have experience in leading, coordinating, or coordinating work between different actors, as well as the ability to work independently and make well-founded decisions.

It is an advantage if you have experience from working in healthcare environments or other operations with high demands for continuity and safety. Experience working in the role of a client or from a client perspective is also advantageous, as is knowledge of occupational health & safety legislation and associated regulations within construction and civil engineering projects.

To succeed in the role, you are structured and have a systematic working method. You are independent and proactive, with the ability to take responsibility and drive the work forward. You have good analytical and problem-solving skills, and are communicative and relationship-building. You thrive in collaboration with different functions and have a good holistic view. Furthermore, you are flexible and stable, even in changing and complex environments.
