Responsibilities

As a chef with us, you will work with preparing, cooking, and portioning meals according to established recipes and quality standards. The Hortlax production kitchen handles both cold and hot preparation, and job rotation is applied between different tasks. Work in the student restaurant, dishwashing, and cleaning are also included.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have a restaurant education at the upper secondary level or equivalent experience that the employer finds suitable. Sufficient knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, for safe handling and communication in a large kitchen. The work requires good physical fitness.

Meritorious skills

• Cooking from scratch in both cold and hot kitchens.
• Self-control, hygiene, and cleaning.
• Experience with job rotation in the kitchen.
• Good communication skills, flexibility, and teamwork.
• Handling of raw materials and basic knowledge of special diets.
• Ergonomic work and machine knowledge within large-scale cooking.
• Knowledge of dietary policy guidelines.

You are passionate about cooking with a focus on quality "cooking from scratch" and customer satisfaction. You are flexible, service-oriented, and able to adapt to the needs of the operation. You work just as confidently independently as in a team and have a holistic view of the assignment. Above all, you share our conviction that good food can make a difference.

About the position

Permanent position, full-time.

Holiday service with working hours Monday to Sunday, including service on holidays, approximately every 7th weekend according to rotation.

Working hours: 37 hours per week.

Start date: According to agreement.

Meal Service is responsible for the production and serving of public meals in the municipality. Our mission is to offer sustainable, nutritious, and tasty meals that promote health and good eating habits. We work with high quality, cooking from scratch, and a strong focus on service.

As part of the Property and Service Administration, we contribute to creating safe and well-functioning environments for the municipality's residents. Our operations include four production kitchens, five preparation kitchens, and 46 final preparation kitchens.
