About the job

We are looking for engaged and competent nurses for the gynecology unit in Halmstad. We now offer two positions with varying working hours (day, evening, and night), where part of the duty includes night shifts. One position is full-time (100%), and the other is 80%.

The unit comprises both an inpatient ward and an outpatient clinic. These positions are located on the gynecology ward, where you will have the opportunity to work with varied tasks within both inpatient and day care. As an important part of our team, you will contribute to high-quality care and support for our patients in their gynecological care needs.

Inpatient Care

• Perform care and nursing for patients within gynecology.
• Responsible for pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing gynecological surgeries.
• Provide post-operative care with a focus on patient recovery.
• Handle acute admissions and provide emergency care when needed.
• Care for cancer patients and provide palliative care.

Day Care

• Perform blood transfusions.
• Care for and support patients undergoing early abortion or treatment after miscarriage.
• Care for patients undergoing pleural taps, paracentesis, and other relevant medical procedures.

Staffing

During daytime, 5 inpatient beds and 3 day care beds are staffed with 2 nurses and one assistant nurse. During evenings, weekends, and nights, 5 inpatient beds are staffed with one nurse and one assistant nurse. This staffing model requires you to be confident in your role as a nurse. We have good cooperation and support from the staff on the maternity ward (BB).

In addition to our regular operations, we also receive patients from other wards when we have vacant beds. This is an important part of our effort to relieve the hospital in case of bed shortages in other clinics. This provides a broader variation in the patient group and the opportunity to develop in the care of patients with different care needs.

About the workplace

Our gynecological unit consists of our inpatient ward and an outpatient clinic, both located on the same floor in the entrance and reception building (EMB).

Ward 10 Gynecology is a care ward for patients with gynecological diseases and complaints, as well as gynecological cancer diagnoses. On the "other wing" of the ward lies our maternity ward (BB) and maternity clinic, staffed by midwives and assistant nurses. The cooperation between BB and our ward is natural and especially important during the night.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a genuine interest in gynecology. Previous experience in gynecological care is meritorious.

As a person, you are confident and stable. You are good at collaborating in a team but can also work independently and take responsibility for the patients' well-being. You are empathetic, careful, and responsible. It is natural for you to have a professional and empathetic approach towards colleagues, patients, and relatives. Furthermore, we see that you are flexible and can handle varied tasks. You also have good communication skills and the ability to handle different medical procedures professionally.

To ensure good and safe communication with colleagues, patients, and other contacts, we require good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. As we work in several different computer systems, you need to have good computer skills. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
