System Engineer for IT Infrastructure at SCB in Örebro

SCB is a medium-sized authority with short decision-making paths. Our work impacts people's daily lives and Sweden's future.

SCB is currently making large, exciting investments in IT to support SCB's statistical production. This investment involves building a new modern software-based data center as well as development platforms that, with new technology and new working methods, meet SCB's future statistical production needs. In connection with this investment, we are now looking for more employees for IT in various technical areas. We hope you want to become part of our future vision.

Are you interested in joining our journey and working within the infrastructure unit at our newly built premises in northern Örebro?

With us, you will work in a modern operational environment. You will have a role where you, together with approximately thirty colleagues, work closely with system managers on the operation and development of SCB's IT infrastructure. We work largely in project form when upgrades and new developments occur in the environment. Your areas of responsibility may change over time in line with the development of our new data center.

About the role

As a System Engineer, you will work with the operation, development, and optimization of our storage and backup environments. You will have a central role in ensuring availability, performance, and data protection in business-critical systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

We want you to have:

  • An academic degree focused on IT or equivalent education/work experience that we assess as equivalent
  • Ability and experience in working structured and project-oriented
  • General knowledge within Windows operations (e.g., AD permissions, Windows Server)
  • High knowledge and work experience, having worked at least 1 year within the VCF platform in the last 3 years
  • High knowledge and work experience, having worked at least 2 years within storage solutions and backup solutions in the last 4 years
  • Sense for automation and efficiency of IT operations, as well as good ability to manage and create operational documentation
  • High knowledge and work experience, having worked at least 1 year within: data halls UPS, backup power, cooling, etc., in the last 3 years
  • Ability to express yourself fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing

Meritorious if you also have:

  • Within one or more products/areas, knowledge and experience in operations for: Data storage NetApp, VMware vSAN, DELL PowerScale, DELL PowerStore, Data protection - NetApp, DELL PowerProtect
  • ITIL foundation certification or work experience that we assess as equivalent
  • Experience working in larger, complex IT environments with high security requirements
  • Knowledge and experience in PowerShell scripting.

Employment type: Permanent employment.

This position is located at the Data Center section in Örebro. Based on the business's prerequisites, there is an opportunity to also work some time from home.

The employment is permanent and usually starts with a six-month probationary period. The date of entry will be agreed upon.

We offer flexible working hours, wellness allowance, and wellness hour. As an employee at a government authority, you have up to 35 days of vacation per year depending on your age.

This position is security classified, so we will conduct a security investigation with register control before we make a decision on employment.
