Do you want to work as a physiotherapist in geriatric care and rehabilitation?

We offer you a responsible, varied, and interesting position within Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy at Kalmar County Hospital. Your primary placement will be with the geriatric inpatient ward, but you will also contribute to other units as needs arise. In close collaboration with occupational therapists and the ward staff, you will work with geriatric patients with various diagnoses and complex needs. Many patients suffer from cognitive impairments. You will also work with the rehabilitation of patients who have undergone amputation surgery. You provide early and professional care through functional assessments and rehabilitative interventions.

As a physiotherapist, you initiate interventions aimed at facilitating the patient's return home for continued training or adaptation.

Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday. Some weekend work occurs, approximately 4 weekend days per year.

About you

You are a licensed physiotherapist. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required. A driver's license is required. You have an easy time collaborating with different professions and have good prioritization skills in your work. We also welcome those who are new to the profession and will adapt the introduction to your needs. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Your future workplace

Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy is part of Rehab South. Approximately 23 physiotherapists, 14 occupational therapists, 2 rehab assistants, and 1 administrator work at the unit. We work both in inpatient and outpatient care. The work as a physiotherapist is independent but also involves close collaboration with other professions within the unit and staff at clinics/wards.

Rehab South has the mission to offer citizens in southern Kalmar County rehabilitative interventions at both specialist and primary care levels. The unit is also responsible for the region's dietitian services in the southern part of the county and for the counselor services at Kalmar County Hospital. Interventions should be provided in collaboration with other healthcare providers and the patient's social network as needed. The goal is that our interventions lead to maintained or improved health.

Kalmar County Hospital is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. It is an acute hospital with specialist care, maternity care, and neonatal care. Over 2,300 people work here to provide good care and high patient safety to the county's inhabitants.
