The Measurement Quality department at Biometria performs control measurements, quality assurance, training, and coaching at industrial measurement sites, in the forest with machine crews, and at remote measurement centers.

The fundamental task of field operations is to help our customers achieve the highest timber value. We achieve this, among other things, by conducting training, monitoring the measurement accuracy of harvesters, and assessing the machine crews' ability to buck the timber in the best possible way. Within industrial operations, the overarching goal is to ensure that Biometria's timber measurement at sawmills, mills, heating plants, terminals, and remote measurement centers is carried out with as little deviation as possible.

In daily work, this involves, among other things, controlling timber measurements and coaching timber measurers and machine crews in their work. For some time now, a large part of the work has also focused on optimizing the increasingly automated technical measuring equipment.

Your responsibilities

As a Quality Manager, you work, among other things, with monitoring measurement accuracy in the field by quality-assuring the harvesters' measurements and following up on the machine crews' bucking/preparation. Part of the job also involves training and coaching forestry contractors.

In the role, you also work with quality-assuring timber measurement at our measurement sites. This assignment includes being involved and coaching throughout the entire chain, from training new staff to control measurement, feedback, and working on quality-improving measures in industrial measurement.

You have more than 50 colleagues in the Measurement Quality department to help you, who work closely and structured towards the same goal.

About the job

Since one of our Quality Managers is on parental leave, we are looking for a replacement. The current position involves being a Quality Manager in Västergötland, Närke, and Southern Värmland. You are based at home, and the job involves some travel within your geographical area of responsibility, so we believe you live in Västergötland.

The tasks are varied and consist mainly of work in field operations and potentially at measurement sites in the future. The job also involves a fair amount of administrative tasks. The distribution of work with machine crews and other tasks is divided among the Quality Managers depending on residence and workload.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have at least upper secondary education and good computer skills. It is important that you are technically interested and have some experience with independent technical problem-solving. Experience in timber measurement, both as a running measurement taker and/or log measurement taker, is meritorious.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You are a social person with leadership qualities and have a genuine interest in working with and developing people. You have a pedagogical approach and can coach and give constructive feedback. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You behave professionally and have the ability to separate facts from personality.

The job involves both great freedom and great responsibility, and you need to be able to plan your work independently and be proactive to complete a large number of varied assignments.

As a Quality Manager, you must of course also be quality-conscious, meticulous, and responsible.

A prerequisite for the position is that you have a category B driver's license.

Employment scope and duration: Full-time. Start date according to agreement, but no later than 2027-11-31 during the regular incumbent's parental leave.
