Job Description
Are you a mechanic open to relocating for the right opportunity? Cummins in Lindesberg is one of the region's most significant employers and a cornerstone of the Swedish heavy vehicle industry. Here, over a hundred years of engineering expertise are combined with modern, sustainable technology. Cummins manufactures complete front and rear axles for heavy vehicles and buses.
Now is the opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic! We are looking for you who are a natural problem solver with a genuine interest in technology. You thrive when collaborating with other professional groups and have the ability to prioritize when production needs your help. As a maintenance mechanic in Lindesberg, you will become a key person in ensuring the operation of a highly automated machine park. Working at Cummins in Lindesberg means getting the best of both worlds: the familiar atmosphere and security of a local company, combined with the career opportunities and resources available in a global large corporation. Welcome to us!
In this recruitment, we collaborate with Randstad, where recruitment consultant Linda Cooper answers questions about the role and the recruitment process. Contact: [email protected]. Selection and interviews will begin from week 33. Response times may be longer than usual due to the summer period.
Responsibilities
You work proactively to prevent downtime through planned inspections and preventive maintenance. When something does break down, you are expected to quickly diagnose and perform repairs to minimize downtime. Mechanics and electricity often go hand in hand. Therefore, you work closely with machine electricians to solve problems where the cause may lie in the borderland between hardware and control systems.
- Emergency troubleshooting and repair: Quickly diagnose and rectify mechanical faults on machining centers to minimize production stoppages.
- Planned preventive maintenance: Perform periodic checks, lubrication, and replacement of wear parts according to established maintenance schedules to ensure the machine park's lifespan.
- Service, adjustment, repair, and replacement of parts and components to maintain the machines' high requirements for dimensional accuracy.
- Work with drive and control systems: Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic components such as cylinders, valve packs, and pumps.
- The machine park consists of about 100 machines, both older and more modern. The work involves mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electronics.
- The role also involves significant collaboration with other departments, e.g., close cooperation with machine electricians and production teams to solve complex problems where mechanics and electricity meet.
Other Information
- Working hours: 2-shift system, full-time with immediate start.
- The employment is permanent with a 6-month probation period.
- Collective agreement: IF Metall.
Qualifications
- Several years of experience in mechanical maintenance on machining centers.
- Ability to read and understand schematics/drawings for hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience working independently with troubleshooting.
- Upper secondary industrial technical education or University College (YH) in maintenance technology, or equivalent experience.
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Furthermore, we consider it meritorious if you also have:
- Experience with, or knowledge of, machine brands such as Okuma, Klingenberg, Gleason, Mazak, Pittler, Schmid.
- Forklift license.
