Air Combat School (LSS) is the Air Force's joint competence centre for education and development. LSS houses the Air Force schools, the Air Force Development Unit, and the Swedish Armed Forces' Service Dog Unit (FHTE). LSS plays a crucial role in the development and growth of the future Air Force.

About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces' Service Dog Unit (FHTE) is part of the Air Combat School (LSS). FHTE is responsible for the production, follow-up, and coordination of service dogs within the Swedish Armed Forces, "from breeding planning to operational teams." FHTE has the mandate to develop the service dog function and to equip the Armed Forces' combat units with service dogs that meet the high standards set by the Swedish Armed Forces. Together with their handlers, the service dogs are trained for missions within the Swedish Armed Forces, both nationally and internationally. FHTE is now seeking a Dog Keeper on a temporary basis at the facility in Märsta/Sigtuna.

About the Position

Temporary employment (50%) until 2026-12-31.

Main Responsibilities

• Daily care and maintenance of the dog kennel
• Exercise of Swedish Armed Forces dogs
• Maintenance and care of equipment and vehicles
• Follow-up and documentation of daily work
• Administrative tasks related to the operations

Qualifications

• Secondary education (High school diploma)
• Previous practical experience working in a dog kennel
• Previous practical experience working with dogs
• Good computer skills
• Category B driver's license (manual transmission)

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who thrives in a varied role with a high degree of independence and responsibility. We expect you to be a communicative and judicious person who collaborates well with others. The role involves travel, such as transporting dogs, and work during weekends and evenings.

Personal suitability will be given great weight.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Previous experience working with service dogs
• Previous experience working in the PRIO/SAP system
• High school diploma from a nature/agriculture school
