We are looking for a Child Health Nurse at Södertull Health Centre in Gävle

Södertull Din hälsocentral is located in the south of central Gävle in a beautiful old building, within walking distance of the city center and train station, with good public transport connections. We have approximately 45 employees, including a doctor's office staffed by permanent doctors, a district nurse clinic, Child Health Care (BVC), home care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and a psychosocial team. We are responsible for several care and nursing homes as well as the Migration Agency's detention center in Gävle. We also host several specialist clinics. We are a training center focused on guiding medical and nursing students into their professional careers. We offer a great atmosphere and a pleasant work environment.

Job Responsibilities

The tasks of Child Health Care (BVC) are regulated by the National Handbook, the Health Care Choice Handbook, and BVC guidelines. The mission of the health center and the BVC nurse is to work from a general health-promoting and disease-preventive perspective. As a BVC nurse, you will provide expectant parents and children aged 0 to 5 years and their parents with a meeting place offering consolidated, accessible, and high-quality support. The position includes working one weekend per month on the family doctor on-call duty.

As a BVC nurse with us, you will work independently on tasks such as:

• Standard BVC visits
• Vaccination clinic
• Parent groups
• Telephone advice, digital contact channels, and home visits

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is flexible and has a solution-focused approach. You see opportunities in change and can adjust your priorities when needed. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy helping others. You also have the ability to see the big picture and solve problems independently. You must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with colleagues. Personal suitability and teamwork skills are highly valued.

As a BVC nurse, you must:

• Be a trained district nurse or a licensed nurse with relevant post-graduate education for BVC
• Hold a valid B driving license

Experience in primary care and BVC is considered an advantage.
