About the Company

Siemens Mobility has been a leader in transport solutions for over 160 years. We are shaping the future of connected mobility through innovative solutions. We drive projects within power supply, signaling systems, and other railway infrastructure. Our market also includes rolling stock for rail traffic as well as vehicle and infrastructure services.

As a world-leading supplier within railway technology, we offer an exciting opportunity for you if you want to work with the best in the industry. We value sustainability, technology, and personal development, and offer an open and dynamic workplace.

We drive projects within track power supply and signaling systems for rail-bound traffic.

Your Responsibilities

The types of facilities you will encounter as an Electrical Designer span a wide voltage range – 0.4–130 kV – both DC and AC. As an Electrical Designer, you will work with our rectifier technology for the railway's 16 2/3 Hz power supply and rectifier stations for the metro, including switchgear and control system solutions. Our largest customers are Trafikverket (Swedish Transport Administration) and Stockholm County Council (SL). You will become part of an experienced team of project managers, designers, and testers who look forward to welcoming you.

Main responsibilities:

  • Independently carry out complete designs of control facilities, primarily within track power supply projects for railways and metros.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, testers, and project managers in the project team.
  • Take responsibility for your technical area from project start to handover to the customer.
  • Ensure that the designs meet the customer's specifications and requirements.
  • Visit suppliers and customers and support on-site work.
  • Participate in the development and creation of new solutions within your area and act as technical sales support.

Location: Stockholm, Gothenburg, Västerås, Sundsvall

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A post-secondary education in electrical power engineering or equivalent work experience in the field.
  • Extensive experience in carrying out complete electrical designs and adapting existing control facilities to converter or rectifier stations within track power supply, or alternatively distribution or transmission facilities.
  • Good knowledge of CAD programs, preferably elMaster.
  • A driven, meticulous, and structured work approach.
  • A strong technical interest, where knowledge of relay protection is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Fluent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • A Category B driver's license, as travel may be required to visit stations.

We are open to candidates who have only worked for a few years with electrical design within control facilities, as we believe that the right personality and willingness to learn are among the most important qualities in our employees. Anything you don't know, we will teach you.
