Description

Do you want to strengthen society's ability to handle crises, heightened readiness and, ultimately, war? Do you have deep expertise in veterinary public health, animal husbandry and food production? Then you may be the strategic resource we are looking for.

Society's work on civil defence and supply preparedness is developing rapidly. Food supply is one of the most prioritized areas, where robust systems for production, distribution and supply are crucial for people's lives and health.

We are now looking for a Senior Preparedness Strategist who will contribute to strengthening regional capacity in supply preparedness, with a special focus on food supply, primary production and veterinary public health.

In this role, you will work strategically with analysis, planning and collaboration to strengthen society's resilience in the face of crises and heightened readiness. You will become part of an engaged team where collaboration, development and responsibility are in focus.

The position offers varied tasks, qualified networks and the opportunity to influence the development of future supply preparedness.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Preparedness Strategist, you will:

• Analyze vulnerabilities, risks and dependencies within the food supply
• Map and analyze supply chains within the framework of the geographical area responsibility
• Develop strategic support materials, decision support and action proposals, and support management and operations in matters concerning food preparedness and supply preparedness
• Coordinate and develop collaboration with agriculture, food companies, municipalities and state authorities
• Contribute to work on civil defence, crisis preparedness and total defense planning
• Follow and analyze developments within relevant regulations and national steering signals.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• Legitimation as a veterinarian
• Several years of experience working as a County Veterinarian or in another overarching veterinary authority function
• Good knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations regarding animal health, disease control and food production
• Documented analytical ability, experience of strategic work, qualified collaboration and experience of working with preparedness issues.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience of working within civil defence or total defense planning
• Good knowledge of Swedish food production and primary production
• Experience of working in the public sector or state authority
• Experience of leading or coordinating complex development assignments.

To succeed in the role, you need to be analytical and structured, strategic with the ability to see the big picture and long-term connections. You must be able to take initiative and work independently. You are communicative with good cooperation skills and are confident in representing the operations in collaboration with many different actors.
