Nåiden is a construction and civil engineering company that has, for nearly 50 years, worked to make Northern Sweden a more pleasant place to live and visit.

We are looking for dedicated and motivated ground workers for Nåiden and their projects in Umeå! We are looking for you who have an interest in ground and civil engineering, enjoy physical work, and understand the importance of teamwork.

About the position

As a ground worker at Nåiden Infra, you will work on varied ground and civil engineering projects within some of Nåiden's major initiatives. You will become part of a tight-knit team in a stable and family-oriented company with short decision-making paths. You will be employed for 6 months through Professionals Nord and work on-site at Nåiden Infra, with the opportunity for continued employment directly with Nåiden Infra thereafter.

Responsibilities

As a ground worker at Nåiden in Umeå, you will work on one of their numerous projects during the upcoming season. These are all located near Umeå, but some driving may be required. Your tasks will vary, but will include among others:

  • Excavating soil and rock to prepare for pipelines, foundations, or roads
  • Backfilling and compacting soil or other materials after pipelines, pipes, or foundations have been installed
  • Installing drainage systems to direct water away from buildings or roads
  • Leveling and shaping ground surfaces prior to asphalt paving, paving stones, or lawns
  • Laying curbstones, paving stones, or slabs
  • Some ground maintenance such as mowing and irrigation
  • Participating in workplace meetings, safety committees, and risk assessments
  • Reporting deviations and contributing to improvement work

The work takes place primarily outdoors and during daytime hours, Monday–Friday or alternatively Monday–Thursday. You will receive a thorough introduction and a development plan tailored to you and your experience.

We are looking for you who

We place great importance on your personal qualities and are looking for someone who is engaged and responsible. You are used to working independently but function equally well in a team, seeing the value in asking questions, prioritizing safety, and working as a team.

It is also an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in the ground and civil engineering industry
  • Experience in reading and interpreting drawings and technical descriptions

Requirements

  • Category B driver's license
  • Swedish language skills (spoken and written)

START: As agreed
