Uddeholm AB is one of the world's leading manufacturers of tool steel, with customers around the globe. We are proud of our technology and innovation department, which is world-leading in digitalization, AI, and energy efficiency. Our research and development department, located in Hagfors, is the largest in the world within the tool steel industry.

We are now looking for an operator for our steelworks, the heart of Uddeholm's operations. Here, we melt approximately 600 tons of steel every day, and you will be a key part of initiating our manufacturing processes.

Today, the steelworks consists of approximately 45 employees, and you will be part of a shift team where collaboration is crucial. The position currently involves working in a 3-shift system.

Responsibilities

In the role of operator/chill caster, you will work together with your shift team to prepare for casting. This includes, among other things:

• Preparing the chill bed with bricks and filling it with sand
• Preparing chills prior to casting
• Operating forklifts and overhead cranes when necessary

In the role of chill caster, you will contribute to ensuring a stable and efficient production flow. Starting as a chill caster is a great entry point for those who wish to develop further within the steelworks, for example, towards the role of melt operator. There are various positions available and good opportunities for internal further education.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is ambitious about developing within the company and is interested in further training to become a melt operator at the steelworks. Experience working with liquid steel is a merit.

It is also a merit if you have forklift and crane licenses, computer skills, and training in Hot Work, but this is not a requirement.
