Do you want to work on a highly specialized ward with a focus on quality and patient safety, as well as employee-driven development? We are looking for a nurse to join our dedicated team.

The Hematology Clinic at Linköping University Hospital provides highly specialized care in hematology with a strong research focus. Here, we diagnose and treat all kinds of hematological diseases, both malignant and non-malignant conditions requiring advanced treatment or investigation. We are part of the South East Sweden Healthcare Region and are located in the O-house at the University Hospital.

At hematology, we place great emphasis on the development and engagement of our employees. We offer broad opportunities for both career and competence development tailored to individual goals and the needs of the organization. We strive to create a good and sustainable work environment where collaboration, participation, and well-being are at the center. Our work is characterized by variety and versatility in tasks, offering opportunities for both professional development and an stimulating working life. Everything we do has a clear focus on patient benefit and quality of care, where every employee's competence and contribution is a vital part of the whole.

Our Offer

At the start: Personal development and a structured introduction of approximately six weeks, with a supervisor throughout the introduction period and a long-term individual development plan. During the introduction, you will receive training in safe medication and cytostatic handling, theoretical reading days, and observation (audition) at other sections of the clinic such as outpatient/day care, research nursing section (clinical trial unit), and the cell therapy unit.

Later:

  • Career development programs within the Center for Surgery, Orthopaedics and Cancer Care (CKOC) with the possibility to specialize in one of our core areas.
  • Advanced training in cytostatic handling (cytostatic license) and hematology education, both internally and externally.
  • Further education during regular internal training periods.
  • Further education as a Specialist Nurse in medicine or oncology with paid salary. Eventually, extended assignments with deepened responsibilities may be offered to promote employee-driven development.
  • Rotation opportunities within the clinic, for example between outpatient/day care and the ward.

Additionally:

  • Individual schedule planning in Tessa. Here, you have the opportunity to work two out of six weekends instead of every other weekend or two out of five weekends, thanks to our systematic staffing with rotation between sections. This provides better predictability, a more even workload, and a sustainable balance between work and leisure, while optimizing the clinic's staffing and work environment. We actively work for healthy working hours.
  • Opportunity to work on the further development of your own area of responsibility within nursing. We offer the possibility to schedule reading/administrative/responsibility days.
  • A present leadership from ward managers and collaboration with the clinic's specialist nurses and experienced colleagues in daily work.

Please read our career ladder for nurses and information about our benefits.

Work Group

We are a nurse-dense ward and have close collaboration with nursing assistants, doctors, and paramedical staff at the clinic (pharmacists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and social workers).

About You

We are looking for you who see the big picture and consider both the broader perspective and the best interests of the organization in your decisions, and who have a genuine interest in nursing, especially in cancer care, and wish to contribute to developing nursing care for our patients.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Swedish language skills equivalent to at least level C1 (good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written).

Qualifications that are meritorious:

  • Over 1 year of professional experience as a nurse.
  • Experience working in hematology in inpatient or outpatient care, or both.
  • Experience or interest in rotation services between outpatient and inpatient care.

We value your personal qualities. We believe you are a person who is flexible and can adapt to the current situation by switching between the planned and the unexpected. Working in a team and having good communication skills are necessary to successfully solve the tasks we face together.
