Who are we?

Welcome to our residential homes for children and young people under Section 9:8 of the LSS Act (Swedish Social Services Act) – a workplace where you make a real difference every day.

We are now looking for hourly substitute staff who want to help shape our operations together with us. Here, you have the opportunity to contribute to a safe, developmental, and professional environment – for both the children and young people we work with and for your colleagues.

We are hiring hourly substitutes for two units: Ånestadsgatan 156 in Smedby, an established facility, and Vägstumpen 1 in Svärtinge, a new unit launching in autumn 2026. You will preferably be assigned to one or both of these units, becoming a key part of building a strong team.

We have a total of seven residential places. Children and young people with various disabilities, backgrounds, and individual needs live in our facilities. Our operations have a high staff density, and we provide 24/7 coverage with both awake night shifts and sleeping on-call duties.

At our center, the children and young people are always at the core. We work purposefully to promote their independence and create a safe, adapted living environment based on their individual needs and conditions.

Your responsibilities

Work in the facility is based on the individual's implementation plan. Our goal is to work towards each individual becoming as independent and secure as possible, allowing them to develop according to their abilities. You provide individualized support and maintain a professional approach.

You form a team with the rest of the staff, consisting of support assistants and support pedagogues, around the individuals living here. As an employee, you have a significant role in creating security and quality of life for our residents in their home. We also have a Health Services (HS) team linked to the operations, consisting of a nurse, an occupational therapist, and a physiotherapist.

You are part of the close-to-individual work, which involves following our children and young people in their daily lives. The tasks cover everything that occurs in a home environment, guided by the individual's needs. The work involves contact with many actors, both internal and external, which is crucial for maintaining holistic care around each individual, as the children and young people live with us permanently.

We are looking for you who have the right education, experience, and personal qualities to work closely with our children and young people within the LSS framework. Here is what we value:

Requirements

• High school diploma from the Care and Nursing program or the Child and Youth program with a social focus, or alternatively other education deemed equivalent by the employer (e.g., behavioral science or therapeutic pedagogy)
• Experience and knowledge of working with people with challenging behavior, such as physical and verbal aggression, as well as self-harming behavior
• Experience with clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal approach, and neuropsychiatry
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good computer skills

Desirable

• Knowledge of socially destructive behavior (present in our target groups)
• Previous experience working with children and young people within LSS
• Experience with special diagnoses such as PWS and work within NPF (Neuropsychiatric Functions)
• Knowledge of trauma and crisis management
• Sign language, support symbols (TAKK), and/or experience with other forms of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
• Valid driver's license (Category B)

You have a high level of structure and a holistic perspective, combined with a well-rooted approach related to user- and next-of-kin issues within the LSS target group. It is important that you can collaborate and work based on decisions made in the operation. We consider taking initiative and striving to build good relationships and achieve results to be important competencies.

Being a good role model for our children and young people, as well as your colleagues, is second nature to you. You are perceptive and adapt your communication to the person you meet; this also means you have high self-awareness, being conscious of your feelings and actions and how they affect your work situations.

The close user work requires a high degree of independence. You see what needs to be done and take initiative in your daily work, which includes implementing and developing new ideas and methods. You are flexible and can change your approach and adapt when the situation demands it. You are good at prioritizing and finding solutions in various situations. You are accustomed to working with risk assessments and can see both the big picture and the details.

As a person, you are calm and secure with a positive basic attitude and commitment to the target group. You see opportunities from a professional standpoint and wish to contribute to developing the operation based on existing goals.
