Boråsregionen works together with the eight member municipalities to continue developing Sjuhärad as an attractive and good region to live and work in. The association forms an important platform for collaboration between the municipalities and operates within regional development and welfare development. The association also runs operations and development projects on behalf of the municipalities. The operations work with a clear and long-term Sjuhärad perspective to create cross-border meetings that promote collaboration, innovation, and new thinking.

We are now looking for an Association Director who wants to lead and further develop Boråsregionen together with our member municipalities. This is a role for you who sees the strength in collaboration and wants to contribute to sustainable development for all of Sjuhärad.

About the role

As Association Director, you are the highest-ranking official of Boråsregionen and lead the association's operations on behalf of the board. You have overall responsibility for operations, economy, employees, and strategic development while representing the association in close dialogue with the member municipalities, the Region of Västra Götaland, state authorities, business life, academia, and other collaboration partners.

You lead an organization with operations in regional development, welfare development, and administration, and are responsible for translating political decisions into concrete results. The role also involves creating good conditions for the many networks, development projects, and collaborations that strengthen Sjuhärad's competitiveness and development.

An important part of the role is to bring the municipalities together around common issues, identify future development opportunities, and represent Sjuhärad's common interests at regional and national levels. You work closely with the municipal managers in the member municipalities. You work long-term, build trusting relationships, and create consensus in issues where many perspectives need to be united.

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for an experienced and strategic leader with a strong social commitment and a documented ability to lead through trust and collaboration. You have experience from public operations, preferably from the municipal sector, and have held an overarching leadership role where you were responsible for operations, economy, and organization, and have led other managers.

You have a good understanding of politically governed organizations and are accustomed to navigating between political ambitions and operational implementation. You see the value of long-term relationships and have a natural ability to create trust among politicians, officials, and external collaboration partners.

To succeed in the role, you are:

  • Strategic and have a clear holistic perspective.
  • A skilled relationship builder who creates collaboration and engagement.
  • Diplomatic, receptive, and unpretentious.
  • Driving and initiative-taking with a good ability to turn ideas into results.
  • A confident negotiator who can gather different interests around common goals.
  • Communicative and accustomed to representing an organization in external contexts.

We would like you to have an academic education relevant to the role or other experience that the employer considers equivalent.

Welcome to us!

With us, you get one of Sjuhärad's most strategic leadership roles, where you, together with the member municipalities, have the opportunity to influence Sjuhärad's development and create long-term value for the approximately 230,000 inhabitants who live and work here.

We look forward to your application
