The Department of Culture and Community Development comprises operations responsible for the management and maintenance of streets and parks, local traffic regulations, culture and leisure, as well as community planning, project design, and development.

The Workplace

The Operations Area for Streets and Parks covers, maintains, and is responsible for the municipality's road network, public spaces, parks, municipal forest management, the area's work machines and vehicles, workshop, investment projects, and the municipality's overall vehicle organization. Currently, the operations area comprises approximately 30 employees divided between the unit and operational support. The operations area also plays an important role in civil crisis preparedness, with staff on call seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Job Responsibilities

As an operations worker specializing in crane truck driving within Streets and Parks, you contribute to ensuring that the municipality's streets, roads, parks, and public environments are safe, well-maintained, and pleasant for residents and visitors.

The work consists mainly of transportation and operational tasks with trucks, but other duties within the operations area also occur. You will drive and handle various types of vehicles and machinery, as well as participate in the maintenance, upkeep, and development of the municipality's public environments.

The duties may include, among other things:

  • Transportation of materials, equipment, and masses within the municipality's operations.
  • Operational and maintenance work on streets, roads, pedestrian and cycle paths, as well as parks.
  • Loading, unloading, and handling of materials using cranes and other aids.
  • Maintenance of the municipality's facilities and outdoor environments.
  • Participation in snow removal, ice control, and other seasonal interventions.
  • Daily supervision and simple maintenance of vehicles and machinery.
  • Collaboration with colleagues, contractors, and other operations within the municipality.

The work is varied and involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration with the work group.

On-call duty is included in the position. Work outside regular hours may occur during, for example, snow removal, ice control, urgent operational disruptions, or other events requiring rapid response.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Upper secondary education in a relevant field or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Experience within the field
  • Category B driver's license
  • Category C driver's license
  • Approved crane training
  • Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing

It is an advantage if you have:

  • YKB (Certificate of Professional Competence)
  • Category CE driver's license
  • Training/certification Work on Road (APV)
  • Operator's license for wheel loaders and excavators
  • Operator's license for other construction machinery
