About the role
As a Risk Engineer, you will become a key person in our safety work. Our operations handle metal powders, which places high demands on explosion protection, fire protection, and strategic occupational health and safety work. You will be responsible for developing and driving both ATEX and SBA processes, with a special focus on risk identification, risk assessment, and risk prevention, while working closely with production, technology, and management to create a safe and secure workplace.
Your main responsibilities

- Be responsible for and update explosion protection documentation (EVD) with a focus on metal powders, dust, and associated risks.
- Ensure that the correct EX-classified equipment for dust is used, installed, and checked based on risk scenarios.
- Conduct training and coach the operations in dust-related explosion safety and risk awareness.
- Together with the operational manager, identify risks, investigate incidents, and accidents regarding explosions.
SBA – Systematic Fire Protection Work
- Lead and follow up on the company's SBA according to LSO, internal guidelines, and current standards.
- Ensure that procedures, instructions, and controls related to fire protection are up to date and followed, with clear risk management.
- Conduct and document inspections and internal audits with a focus on identifying fire risks.
- Coordinate work with external actors such as the Fire Department and handle authority and supervision matters related to fire risks.
- Initiate and drive improvement projects related to fire prevention measures and reduction of fire risks.
- Together with the operational manager, identify risks, investigate incidents, and accidents regarding fire.
Other occupational health and safety work
- Perform risk assessments, safety rounds, and investigations of deviations, accidents, and near misses, with a focus on risk-reducing measures.
- Support the organization in interpreting occupational health and safety requirements and associated risks.
- Conduct training in occupational health, ATEX, and fire protection with a focus on risk-aware culture.
- Participate in and drive improvement projects within HSE and safety culture and integrated risk management.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who combine facts and structure with engagement and inspiration. You have a natural ability to build trust, drive change, and create involvement.
You, the applicant, have a relevant academic education, such as a Risk Engineer with competence in occupational health, technology, fire, or equivalent, or equivalent experience in risk management. You have documented competence in ATEX, with a special focus on dust and explosion risks in industrial environments, as well as experience in systematic fire protection work (SBA) in industrial operations.
Furthermore, you have very good knowledge of occupational health legislation and regulations, such as AML, AFS, and LSO, and are accustomed to translating these into practice. You have the ability to lead, drive, and anchor change work in organizations, and you communicate in a clear and pedagogical manner. It is natural for you to educate, coach, and create engagement in safety and occupational health issues.
It is meritorious if you have experience from the process or metal industry, have worked with ISO management systems, such as ISO 45001, and have experience in project management or driving larger safety-related projects involving risk analysis.
You are simply a person who is passionate about creating safe and sustainable workplaces – and who leads by example.
