A major marshalling yard in Gothenburg is one of Sweden's most important railway facilities for freight traffic. The facility is approaching its technical lifespan in several respects and is in great need of reinvestment measures and modernization.

The project involves a complete reconstruction of the marshalling yard, which entails demolishing the existing facility and constructing a new yard with a new track structure, new BEST systems, and extensive ground and foundation works. Furthermore, it includes extensive mass handling and management of area-specific conditions such as the presence of invasive species and challenging geotechnical conditions with settlement issues. The project is carried out in phases and covers the entire yard, including the entrance group, yard, and direction group.

The project is characterized by several logistical challenges that need to be managed during the production phase. A central challenge is that production takes place in direct proximity to ongoing road and rail traffic. Small and narrow areas adjacent to the production area create challenges regarding logistics, material handling, and transport.

The role involves leading various tasks as the client in the project with a high degree of business acumen, for example:

• Work with overarching coordinating production issues in the contract, for the client organization.
• Quality assurance of schedules and production planning.
• Planning of logistics and transport, access to necessary areas.
• Ensure material availability.
• Quality assure and ensure constructability in FU/BH (Detailed Design/Construction Documents).
• Monitor production as a whole with a focus on progress and control against contract documents.
• Ensure that control programs and control plans are followed and managed by the client organization and contractor.
• Develop and apply methods for production planning, production monitoring, and production control to ensure efficient and trouble-free production.
• Ensure that work is carried out within timeframes, budget, and current occupational health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project management, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Document and report status, deviations, and proposed solutions.
• Coordinate inspections and meetings related to the project.

Compulsory Requirements

The resource consultant must meet the following competence requirements:

• Academic education of 180 hp (120p) in construction, infrastructure, or railway, or a combination of education and experience that Trafikverket (Swedish Transport Administration) deems equivalent.
• At least 8 years of professional experience as a construction manager/production manager within infrastructure. The experience must not be older than 15 years.
• At least 24 months of combined experience in construction/production management in projects with a total turnover of at least 300 MSEK.
• Good knowledge of contract law such as AB, ABT, ABK, as well as industry standards such as AMA and MER.
• Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in complex logistics coordination, preferably in a railway environment, and the ability to coordinate complex issues in infrastructure projects with many parallel technical disciplines and time-critical moments.
• The resource consultant is clear in their leadership. The client values that the resource consultant plans and structures their work, drives processes, sets goals, and maintains timeframes. Being willing to delegate and be clear but flexible. The client values that the resource consultant has clear and direct communication and is responsive, agile, and resolves conflicts constructively.
• The resource consultant has completed tender documents/construction documents for execution contracts.
