Do you want to take responsibility for Kongsberg Maritime's expansion into the North American market?

Kongsberg Maritime is now looking for a business-driven and relationship-building Sales Manager who wants to play a key role in our continued growth within the Naval segment.

You will become a central part of our international sales team, responsible for developing business within one of our most strategically prioritized markets – the USA and Canada. Here, you will combine technical understanding, business acumen, and long-term relationship building in some of the world's most complex and exciting marine projects.

About the role As Sales Manager, you are responsible for developing and driving business within the Naval segment, with a special focus on North America. The role involves building long-term relationships with customers, shipyards, and partners while leading complex deals from early market dialogues to finalized agreements.

You will work closely with our technical, project, finance, and product organizations to create competitive solutions where both technical and commercial perspectives are integrated.

The deals are often extensive, international, and span several years, placing high demands on business savvy, structure, and endurance. This is a role for you who thrives on creating business where multiple functions need to collaborate to achieve the best results.

The position involves travel to North America a few times per year, and we offer hybrid work arrangements.

Your responsibilities

You will among other things:

  • be responsible for sales within the Naval segment, focusing on the USA and Canada.

  • identify and develop new business opportunities in a strategically prioritized market.

  • build long-term relationships with customers, shipyards, and partners.

  • lead complex sales processes from initial dialogue to contract.

  • drive proposal work together with the technical, project, and finance organizations.

  • represent Kongsberg Maritime at customer meetings, international trade fairs, and conferences.

  • contribute to developing our market position in North America.

We are looking for you who have

Experience in technical B2B sales where the deals are complex, long-term, and international.

You have a natural ability to build trust, understand customer needs, and gather the right internal competence to find the best solution.

You are driven by developing business rather than making quick closes and see the value in long-term relationships.

Requirements

  • University education in engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Documented experience in technical B2B sales.

  • Experience with international business.

  • Good proficiency in negotiation and commercial discussions.

  • Very good knowledge of English.

Merits

  • Experience from the marine, defense, or other technologically advanced industries.

  • Experience with the North American market.

  • Experience with security-classified operations.
