We are now looking for a Software Test Engineer for a role within vehicle development, where you will work closely with software, hardware, and test environments in the development of advanced ECU systems.

About the Role

In this role, you work to ensure the quality of embedded software for ECUs prior to delivery to the customer. The focus is on verifying functionality in both supplier-delivered software and internal development, with the goal of ensuring robust and reliable systems in vehicles.

You will work in an environment where testing, analysis, and improvement proposals are a central part of the development process, and where you play a key role in identifying and solving problems at the source.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements for ECU functions such as diagnostics and communication
• Develop test plans and structured, traceable test cases
• Design and implement manual and automated tests (including in Python)
• Execute tests in test benches, vehicles, and HIL environments
• Analyze system behavior, logs, and fault tracing
• Identify root causes and propose improvements to suppliers
• Document test results and support final verification
• Contribute to the further development of test platforms and automation solutions

Qualifications

• Education in mechatronics, electrical engineering, embedded systems, or equivalent
• Understanding of embedded systems and ECU functions
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN and LIN
• Experience with testing in HIL, SIL, test bench, or vehicle environments
• Familiarity with tools such as INCA, CANoe/CANalyzer, and diagnostic tools
• Interest in testing, analysis, and problem-solving in complex systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python or CAPL for test automation
• Previous work with ECU verification or vehicle development
• Knowledge in diagnostics (e.g., UDS)
• Experience from the automotive industry or consulting assignments within embedded systems
