Process Developer at Outokumpu Avesta

We are now looking for a Process Developer for the Steel Plant Technology team – a role for you who wants to combine analysis, problem-solving, and change management in an international industrial environment.

About the role

As a Process Developer, you play a key role in developing and optimizing our processes. You act as a specialist in your field and work closely with production to improve quality, increase efficiency, and create long-term sustainable solutions.

You drive development initiatives from idea to implementation and ensure that improvements deliver tangible results in the business. The role combines operational work in daily operations with a strategic focus on long-term development.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will among other things:

• Develop and optimize process methods to achieve goals within quality, cost, process time, as well as energy and environment
• Analyze and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and support the organization in improvement work
• Participate in daily management and contribute solutions to deviations
• Compile and analyze product deviations and ensure feedback and learning in the process
• Coordinate change and improvement work within the process group
• Participate in projects and be responsible for implementing new working methods and technical solutions
• Contribute to work related to strategy, investments, and development initiatives
• Collaborate with internal and external research and development actors

Your profile

We are looking for you who have a technical background and a strong interest in process development and improvement work. You are analytical, proactive, and thrive on turning data and insights into concrete results.

We believe you have:

• A Master of Science degree in engineering in areas such as materials technology, process metallurgy, or mechanical engineering – or equivalent experience
• Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Experience from the manufacturing industry is an advantage
• Good computer skills, especially with the Office suite

As a person, you are structured, solution-oriented, and have an easy time collaborating across different functions. You are confident in communicating and presenting to various audiences.
