Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters, working long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will play a crucial role in the future – what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.

Your role

The Concentrator in Boliden is one of the most complex plants in the world, where we concentrate ore from four different mines using various processes to produce metal concentrates. As a Process Engineer at the Concentrator, you play a key role in supporting and improving our processes. You will be part of daily operations, working closely with production while also focusing on long-term solutions and systematic development. In this role, you support production and make decisions that impact process efficiency. You will join a multidisciplinary and diverse team, expected to contribute to and drive the technical development of our processes, prioritizing health, environment, and safety. We operate with a strong production focus and a commitment to continuous improvement.

This is a one-year fixed-term position starting as soon as possible.

Your team

You report to the Process Manager at the Concentrator and collaborate with two other Process Engineers and a Laboratory Supervisor, who leads a team of eight laboratory technicians. You also work closely with other functions, including supervisors and process operators in the operations organization.

Your responsibilities

You will serve in a coordinating role and spend your days on varied tasks, including:

  • Daily monitoring of production.
  • Analysis and reporting of process results and metallurgical balances.
  • Process development, often in collaboration with our operations organization.
  • Planning and review of laboratory tests and pilot tests.

Your qualifications

  • Upper secondary education combined with university or college studies in technical chemistry, mineral processing, or similar, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with similar issues from the process industry and a strong interest in applying theoretical knowledge to practical use.
  • Good proficiency in Swedish and English.
  • Valid driver's license for passenger vehicles.

Why work with us?

At Boliden, we believe in fostering a workplace where care, courage, and responsibility are central to everything we do. We offer a collaborative environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on future generations. We are a company of responsible and creative people working towards the same vision: to become the world's most sustainable and respected metals supplier.

The Concentrator is part of the Boliden area, along with three mines, and plays a central role in extracting and producing metals. Ore from the mines is processed here into concentrates sold to our customers, the smelters. At our facility, the ore undergoes several process steps, including grinding, flotation, and leaching of precious metals. A key part of our operations is also the management of our sand storage and the treatment of process water before it is released into the environment.
