Support Assistant/Residential Assistant for Short-Term Accommodation for Children and Young People

In the care of people with disabilities, we support children and young people with various types of disabilities and work to facilitate everyday life through practical support and care. The operations also aim to provide relief to guardians and families. Our goal is to ensure that every child is given the conditions for as independent a life as possible. The work involves meeting children with neuropsychiatric, intellectual, and often also physical disabilities.

Lillkorpen is a short-term accommodation for children and young people with extensive support needs. The operations offer individually adapted support in daily life, including nursing and hygiene measures. The goal is to create a safe, developmental, and meaningful stay based on each individual's needs and conditions.

Hänget is a short-term accommodation for children and young people who are more independent in their daily lives. The users largely manage their personal hygiene and care themselves, with support and guidance when needed. The operations focus on strengthening independence, participation, and social development in a safe and stimulating environment.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of support assistant/residential assistant, the tasks include among other things:

• Responsibility for meeting the children's needs based on decisions according to LSS (Act on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Disabilities).
• Have good ability and knowledge to see and meet each child's individual needs, including the need for regular medical support.
• Provide good nursing care and work to create a safe, stable, and trusting relationship with the children.
• Maintain good and professional contact with parents and other partners.
• Play and various activities with the children are a natural and important part of the work.
• Perform delegated medical tasks from the nurse.
• Some work tasks may involve lifting, which requires good physical health.

The work includes day, evening, and weekend shifts as well as sleeping on-call duty. Occasional awake nights may occur if needed.

Salary

For the position of support assistant within care, the starting salary range is 26,800–34,000 SEK per month. For the position of residential assistant within care, the starting salary range is 24,000–30,000 SEK per month. We apply individual salary setting. The final salary is determined based on education, relevant experience, competence, and responsibility in the role, as well as taking into account the current collective agreement.

Who are you?

For the position of support assistant, a high school education with a focus on care and nursing, children and leisure, or that you are trained as a social pedagogue and/or personal assistant is required.

For the position of residential assistant, a high school education is meritorious.

Previous experience in caring for people with disabilities, preferably children and young people, is meritorious. We also view positively experience with pedagogical work methods, sign language communication, and the use of visual supports. Experience working with challenging behaviors as well as knowledge of LSS and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is also meritorious. A B-driving license is also desirable for day/evening/weekend shifts.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and meets them with respect and care. You are flexible, self-reliant, and can take initiative, while also enjoying collaborating and contributing to a team. You are stable, clear in your manner, and have great patience; you know when it is time to listen, support, or lead.

You have good judgment, pedagogical insight, and enjoy planning and carrying out activities that spark curiosity and promote the children's development. You meet children in a low-affective and professional manner and see each child's unique needs and opportunities.
