The Municipal Property Administration plays a central role in creating tomorrow's Gothenburg. We plan, build, develop, and manage premises where hundreds of thousands of Gothenburg residents go to school, work, receive care and support, or access the city's services every day.

Job Responsibilities

The Project and Investment Department carries out new construction, renovation, and maintenance projects to meet the city's needs for schools, preschools, nursing homes, and housing with special support. The department is in an expansion phase with a planned annual project volume of up to three billion SEK. Together with other administrations, we create the conditions for an attractive, competitive, and long-term sustainable city.

In the autumn, the administration will move to Traktören on Köpmansgatan in central Gothenburg. The modern premises create good conditions for collaboration, development, and close leadership. Several of the city's urban development administrations are also gathered here, which strengthens cooperation and contributes to a more cohesive work for Gothenburg's development.

The business area focuses on housing and strategic properties. We are responsible for care and support housing, housing with special support, as well as strategic business premises, including office rentals, premises within the city's developed land reserve, and premises that strengthen the city's crisis preparedness.

We are now looking for a Unit Manager for the Housing and Strategic Properties Project Management Unit 3. The unit consists of project managers who drive and follow up projects throughout the entire process.

As a Unit Manager, you lead and develop the business together with your employees. You play a central role in creating good conditions for successful projects, effective collaboration, and a sustainable working environment.

The role includes:

  • having personnel, working environment, and budget responsibility for the unit
  • creating conditions for a good, sustainable, and healthy working environment
  • leading the business towards set goals within established economic frameworks
  • having ownership of projects and assignments
  • representing the client in matters concerning contracting and consulting services
  • following up and developing processes and completed projects
  • being part of the business area's management group and the department's management group
  • being responsible for the unit's communication and environmental scanning
  • collaborating with other administrations in connection with project implementation
  • together with the unit, translate the business's goals into clear and monitorable activities

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university or college education of at least 180 higher education credits in community planning or another comparable direction.

For the position, you must have:

  • experience of personnel, working environment, and budget responsibility
  • experience of culture and values-based work
  • experience of a development and process-oriented working method
  • experience of leading leaders or specialists
  • relevant experience from the community planning sector and its different stages, including construction project management
  • experience of change work and leading in change
  • experience of economic control in projects
  • good knowledge of contract law
  • good knowledge of construction working environment
  • good knowledge of the Public Procurement Act (LOU)
  • knowledge of union collaboration and working environment legislation.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • completed leadership training or have experience of developmental leadership
  • experience of projects within community planning of housing
  • experience of project management methodology
  • experience of working in public operations or politically directed organizations
  • experience of contract negotiation and hiring
