The Automation and Digitalization unit is a newly established unit within the Business Area Soft Infrastructure and drives some of the city's most exciting initiatives in digital development. The unit will have 19 employees plus consultants. You will be part of the management group for the Business Area Soft Infrastructure and report to the Business Area Director.
The unit delivers, maintains, and further develops services and solutions such as digital signing, secure communication between authorities, integration, process automation, BPMS, and RPA. The unit plays a key role in Gothenburg's digitalization journey and is in the midst of significant growth with many new, developmental assignments. Our digital infrastructure spans from national platforms to innovative in-house developed services – all with the goal of creating a smarter and more sustainable Gothenburg.
As a manager, you will lead a cutting-edge area where ideas quickly become reality and make a clear difference. Here you will face complex challenges that require innovative thinking, collaboration, and courage – and where the results are visible in people's daily lives.
As Unit Manager, your assignment will involve:
- Responsibility for overall steering and prioritization of deliveries and development initiatives.
- Identifying needs and subsequently coordinating and ensuring the right resource allocation.
- Developing the service offering together with the service strategist, operations manager, and product owners.
- Ensuring efficient collaboration within the management group and with other unit managers within the business area.
- Driving continuous improvement of working methods, processes, and quality.
As Unit Manager, you have personnel and work environment responsibility and are responsible for competence supply within the unit. You also have economic responsibility and work with budgets, forecasts, and follow-ups. Implementation and improvement of relevant processes are part of your work.
About you
We are looking for you who have a relevant university education and a background in IT, where service delivery, development, and support have been natural parts of your work. You have several years of leadership experience, preferably in a managerial role, and are accustomed to driving change work. You are confident in understanding business needs and translating them into practical and value-creating solutions.
It is meritorious if you have experience of:
- Leading and driving the unit to work in a team-based and agile manner.
- Working in large and complex organizations.
- Work with automation and integration platforms.
As a leader, you are receptive, clear, and confident in your communication. You coach and inspire your employees and create conditions for delivering results that provide real benefit and effect. You operate in an environment with many contact points and collaborations, which requires that you build trusting relationships and drive dialogue at different levels. Engagement and participation are a natural part of your leadership, and you are driven by helping others grow.
