Bostadsbolaget is looking for a Chief of Staff

Do you want to take a key role in the development of Bostadsbolaget?

We are now establishing a staff department that brings together specialist functions with a focus on developing working methods, processes, governance, and operational support. As Chief of Staff, you will have a unique assignment to build and lead the department, playing a central role in driving Bostadsbolaget's continued development.

You will become a key force in translating strategic ambitions into concrete change and creating conditions for increased execution capability, efficient working methods, and clear results throughout the organization.

About the role

As Chief of Staff, you lead a newly formed department that consolidates business development and specialist functions within IT and digitalization, security, legal, rent negotiation, as well as safety and social sustainability.

The role is broad and combines strategic leadership with a clear focus on execution and results. You create structure, direction, and context, enabling different competencies to work as a unified whole rather than separate functions. Together with the business units, you drive the development of working methods, processes, and governance, ensuring that initiatives are followed up on and lead to actual impact.

You and your department serve as a qualified support to the CEO and executive management on cross-functional issues. You are responsible for initiating, coordinating, steering, and monitoring development efforts that strengthen the company's ability to meet future requirements and opportunities.

Examples of tasks:

• Lead and develop the staff department, including responsibility for the department's operations, economy, and employees.
• Ensure clear governance, prioritization, and follow-up within the staff department.
• Create conditions for the department's specialist competencies to be translated into concrete benefits for the business.
• Build strong collaboration between the company's departments and functions.
• Represent the staff department and the company in internal and external contexts.

You report directly to the CEO and are part of the company's executive management. You have personnel responsibility for both subordinate managers and directly reporting specialists.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are an experienced and confident leader with the ability to navigate complex organizations. You are strategic but also have a strong focus on execution and are accustomed to translating goals and strategies into practical results that are visible in the business.

You have experience leading large-scale development and change initiatives and creating structure, engagement, and anchoring in organizations where many perspectives must be balanced. You thrive in a role where you take overall responsibility, prioritize between different needs, and bring different parts together into a functioning and efficient whole.

As a leader, you are clear, confident, and development-oriented. You build trusting relationships, create engagement, and motivate people to work towards common goals.

We are looking for someone who has

• An academic degree that the employer deems relevant for the assignment.
• Several years of experience in managerial or leadership roles in larger organizations.
• Documented experience leading large-scale development and change initiatives with clear results.
• Experience in developing working methods, processes, business governance, or organization.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving multiple business areas.
• Experience leading managers, qualified specialists, or cross-functional roles.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in public sector operations, non-profit housing, or other complex organizations with a clear societal mission.

About us

Bostadsbolaget has approximately 25,000 rental apartments distributed across all districts of Gothenburg. This makes us one of Gothenburg's largest landlords and an important part of societal and urban development.

We are approximately 400 people working at Bostadsbolaget. Most work out in our residential areas, close to our tenants, while others work centrally in one of our support functions. More than 20 different professions are represented here, but regardless of role, we all work towards the same goal – creating good and safe living environments together with around 50,000 tenants and our other partners.
