Kava/ENT is currently under development, and our long-term goal is to open up to 18 to 22 beds. We provide advanced and complex care around the clock. It is a challenging but educational environment where the team around the patient works together towards a common goal. Job Responsibilities

We welcome you as a Nursing Assistant who wants to become part of a cross-professional team consisting of nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, and more. Around the team, there are also service attendants, dietitians, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and a senior nursing assistant.

In the role of a Nursing Assistant, you work with common nursing assistant tasks within somatic care. Duties include, for example, NEWS checks, blood sampling, wound care, tracheostomy care, catheters, and handling of drains. You meet patients with varying care needs, where you as a Nursing Assistant need to be flexible and positive in a sometimes stressful work environment. You work in teams where you plan, are receptive, and proactive to work together to provide the patient with good and safe care.

At Kava/ENT, we primarily care for patients with acute surgical diseases and conditions. The most common reasons for admission include abdominal diagnoses, acute bleeding, and traumatic injuries. We also care for a smaller patient group within the ear, nose, and throat specialty, where diagnoses can include jaw surgery, patients with tracheostomies, and facial trauma.

Acute nursing also involves pre- and postoperative care. We receive patients at all hours of the day, and most patients are admitted via the emergency department. The department is also responsible for the Ear, Nose, and Throat emergency department, which is staffed with doctors and nursing assistants.

For us, it is of utmost importance that you thrive and feel secure in your role as a Nursing Assistant. As a new employee, you will receive an introduction with supervision that is individually adapted for you. We have experienced nursing assistants on the department who are happy to share their competence and experience and support you in your new workplace. Region Skåne has a mandatory introduction package that you will participate in.

Evening, night, and weekend shifts are included in the positions. We use a preference schedule, and you work two weekends out of five.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a Nursing Assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected job title, regardless of whether you studied under the previous or current program structure, preferably with a focus on emergency care. You should have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have experience as a Nursing Assistant in healthcare, preferably in surgery, emergency care, or ear, nose, and throat specialty.

As a person, you have a good attitude and can meet individuals with different backgrounds and needs, always working with the patient's best interest in focus. You are also team-oriented, take responsibility, are structured, and have the ability to plan your work based on what is of highest priority at the moment. Additionally, you can keep a high pace and enjoy working in a group. Of course, we hope that you, together with us, strive for a good work environment and brighten the days with a laugh or two.
